Brooke's POV
"I'm so happy you're giving it a second chance - us, I mean." Nick smiles at me from across the table.
I laugh, "It's just pizza and a movie, Nick, you don't have to thank me."
"But I do." he replies instantaneously.
I smile. Just like old times.
Later, in the theater, with Nicks strong arm around me, I turn to face him, and he leans down to kiss me. I almost forgot how much I love his kisses. They're sincere, not rushed, but slow. Like artwork.
Josh's POVAfter spending the majority of last week with Chloe, I decide to take a day for myself. First things first, I headed to the track. Running clears my head, and now that my dad doesn't force it on me, I've actually grown to love it. It's just one other way of pushing myself to the limit, except on land and not on ice.
I make my way down the hill to the bouncy red rubber and bend down to start tying my laces.
"Hi Josh!" I hear a perky voice that sounds vaguely familiar, but I just can't put a finger on who it is...
I see a pink Nike sneaker hit the ground in front of me, and my eyes trail up to someone's leg. A very long, slender leg which is connected a body. A girl's body. Correction- a very hot girl's body.
Finally, I look up to see this girl's face.
"Maddie?" I ask. I haven't seen my ex-girlfriend in around a year, but I hardly recognize her. She's become quite the sight in the past 11 months. "How are you doing?" I continue, "It's been so long."
"Well you never answered my texts." retorts Maddie, but I can tell she's not mad, "Anyways, I think you might've gotten hotter since the last time I saw you...if that's even possible."
"Mads..." I reply, shaking my head.
She laughs, "I'm not asking you to date me. I'm asking you to be my friend." She reaches out a hand and helps me up, "Maybe we can grab a coffee sometime. You know my number if you want to call."
I gulp and nod, stuffing my headphones in my ears, then turn to continue jogging away down the track. I hurt her pretty bad...maybe I do owe her coffee.
