The smell of your blood is thick in the air. With the feeling of your knees scraping and bumping against the cobblestones sidewalk, you can no longer hold yourself up as you're being drug into the Mikaelson compound. The two men release you, your worn-out body coming to a stop in the middle of the patio area as you land onto your hands and knees. You spit out blood as you try to shakingly, but quickly remove the little shards of white oak that's piercing your skin, hoping if you can move fast enough you can still survive this.
"Look at who has returned to us!" Nik's voice beams and echoes against the stone walls, instantly wiping away any sense of hope you had left in your soul. This is it. This is the end. "Y/N, my dear, it's been far too long." You glance up as you sit back on your heels, your hands falling to your side. It's been nearly one hundred years since you last saw the man who was once everything to you. It's been nearly one hundred years since you ran for your life from him.
"Just get it over with, Nik," you mutter, barely still conscious. Your eyes meet his as he's suddenly standing over you, then kneels down in front of you. "Just kill me already."
"Giving up so soon? Just like that? Please, love, you know first hand I don't just kill someone. I don't grant that kind of mercy. No, no, what's waiting for you will be far worse than death." He grabs a shard of the white oak and pierces it further into your chest, causing you to cry out. "I was saving these pieces just for you, so you could know and feel the pain that I've had to live with for the past century." He rips it out suddenly, taking your breath with it. You haven't fed in days, you've been bled out, and stuck with the only wood in the world that can kill you. Everything goes black as you hear someone suddenly begin yelling off in the background. "What the hell is going on here?!" Elijah yells.
When you finally wake, everything hurts. Your mind is fuzzy, your vision is blurry, and your blood feels like it's boiling. You shift your legs slightly, trying to move. The sound of chains rattling with your movement catches you off guard. The noise snaps you back to reality as you glance around. You're shackled to a large rock, laying on the cold ground, inside of a cave somewhere. The cell under the house. As your eyes begin to focus, you can see what looks like an IV bag hanging above your head on the wall. Your eyes fall onto your arm, where the needle is stuck in. "What the hell," you grumble to yourself. Slowly, you go to try and pull it out, but it's bound to you through magic.
"Do you like it?" A voice rings from the other side of the room, from the darkest corner. "It's a very special blend of werewolf venoms, specially made for taking down an original, even us hybrids. A sweet and slow drip that will last for as long as I want it to." Nik comes out of the shadows as he steps towards you.
You lay your head back against the dirt as you sigh heavily. "So, this is your big plan?" You mutter, your voice rough. "You're just going to grant me a slow, painful death with your venom cocktail?" You glance over at him. "I thought after all of these years, you would have planned something a bit more... Entertaining?"
You watch as he kneels down beside you, right outside of your reach. Even if you could reach him, though, your body is too weak to even attempt to fight your equal match. "By all means, if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. There are other options to play with, I just felt this would be a good warm-up."
You snort as the pain suddenly becomes very, very real. "Does this give you satisfaction? Seeing the woman you once loved suffer by your hands?" You sneer. Every single time a drop of the liquid falls, your veins become more inflamed, and the infection spreads. "I'm going to guess begging for your forgiveness is out of your list of options?"
His smirk quickly falls as his lips press into a hard line. "The woman I loved died the night she got my father back on our trail. Don't act like you ever truly cared, Y/N. The time for apologies has long passed." He stands from the ground.
