Kori's POV

after I dropped polly off at her house I went home and went up the stairs I showered, dried my hair, brushed my teeth, put on some light make up with red lipstick to match my dress I slipped on the dress straightened my hair and put on my shoes. I went down the stairs and my family were already waiting.

Finally my sister mumbled and I shot her a death glair. We all got in the car when we got their we parked our car in the large drive way. Bruce was standing at the door greeting the guests as they came we walked over.

Got money much my brother mumbled and I nudged him with my hip telling him to shut up

Ah hello mr and mrs anders I am guessing this is Ryan he said looking at ry well hello Kori he said looking at me

Hello mr Wayne I said

Richard is in here somewhere he said

We walked into the large ball room and I stood with my parents as they talked to some random guy my sister was already off flirting with some rich guys and my brother was off annoying Jason Richards brother.

I felt a slight tap on my shoulder I turned around and saw Xavier.

Kori will you dance with me he asked I knew my parents were right behind me and they would complain and say it was rude if I refused

I guess so I mumbled.

Oh how cute my mum said taking a quick pitcher

Muuuum I moaned Xavier took my hand and we walked over to a space on the floor I just preyed Richard wouldn't see me he took my hand in one of his I put my other hand on his shoulder and the thing that really made me nearly scream was when he put his hand on my waste.

You look beautiful Kori he said

Thank you you also look nice I said to him

Listen Kori can we just please be friends he asked

I don't know if that's a good idea I said calmly even though on the inside I wanted to scream

You know just because your little boyfriend doesn't like me doesn't mean you can't he said trying to look into my eyes but I hid them by putting my head down letting my hair fall on top of my face

I know but...... I will try to like you but no promises I said

Thank you Kori I will be back in one minute Kori I'm gonna go get a drink you want anything he asked

No thank you I said as I walked over to a wall and leaned on it

2 minutes later he came back he looked a little dizzy and he was holding a bottle he walked up very close to my face.

Hey Kori you wanna go somewhere he asked his breath stinked of alcohol.

No I looked down at the bottle he had in his hand Xavier that's alcohol I said to him fear in my eyes. He didn't reply he just grabbed my wrist and pulled me out on the balcony it was maybe a 30 foot drop he locked the door behind him and slowly started walking towards me. The closer he came to me the further I backed away until I was leaning against the banister. Small tears started pouring from my eyes.

Xavier leave me alone I said

No he answered I suddenly heard glass break and we turned to face the door and Richard had smashed the glass door to get to me I ran over to him and he pulled me close.

Xavier leave now Richard growled

Fine Xavier said clearly not wanting to get his but kicked Xavier ran out as fast as he could and polly walked over to see what had happened.

Polly go tell kori's parents she will be staying here tonight Richard said polly just ran off to find my parents.

Me and Richard went up to his room and he gave me one of his t-shirts and some of his draw string pants so that they wouldn't fall down I put them on and sat next to him on his bed for the rest of the night he just held me close in his arms until I finally drifted off to sleep.
