Kori's POV

I woke up with Richard next to me he was lying awake starring at me.

Please tell me it was all a dream and I don't have to go to school today with that thing up my nose I said to him

Trust me I only want it to be a dream I thought I lost you last night he said and I got up and still had the thing in my nose I also had a small container that fed oxygen through to help me breath I just wore connivers one of Richards hoodies and jeans. The upside was that the oxygen box fit in my pocket

When we got to school I saw people starring and whispering as me and Richard walked. Until Kate ran over in her stripper heels.

Hey dicky-poo what the hell do you have on your face she asked

I don't have to explain myself to you I said

Kate move Richard said but she didn't

DO YOU HAVE CANCER Kate yelled

I already told you I don't have to explain myself to you I said again as I walked past her and the bell rang. I didn't have my first class with Richard but I sat next to Xavier.

I walked into class and heard some gasps but I just sat down.

Yes I mumbled

So you have cancer Xavier asked

Yes I repeated

We're all going to die at some point who knows it could be tomorrow of it could be in 1000 years but no one can stop death and trust me no matter how good or bad your days going wake up and be thankful....because I wake up in the morning fighting.......fighting to survive I told him and he looked shocked. Class finally ended and the rest of the day went on pretty fast and after school me and Richard went to the park and sat on a bench a man and a little girl walked past when the little girl stopped making he dad stop too.

No no really it's okay I reassured and turned to the little girl this is called a cannula and it helps me breath and see this little friend here it feeds oxygen through I said showing her the little box in my pocket

It's cool she said

Here wanna try it I asked and she nodded I slowly took it off and put it on her.

Thank you nice lady she said as she took it back off and handed it to me I put it back on and she ran off.

You sure do have a way with kids Richard said

Oh I do I said in a fancy voice and then I frowned.

What's wrong he asked

You. You could have any girl at the click of your fingers yet why. Why me i have cancer I could die I'm a granade (sp) I said

Kori you asked why because I love you and if you have cancer well so do I I'm not losing this fight Kori this fight for you if you die I don't know what I'd do he said. And I snuggled into him
