CHAPTER 7 - my baby girl (Griffin)

Savanna Winter (19) is Griffin Johnson's (22) girlfriend. They've been in a relationship for over 4 years now. On May last year, Savanna found out she was pregnant and Griffin was super excited about it. Sometime later they figured out that they were having twins! But the only ones who knew the gender were Addison and Josh, since both Sav and Griff wanted the genre to be a surprise. In the last few days Savanna had been having contractions so Griffin decided they would go to the hospital today just in case...

~Griffin's POV~

I was helping Sav with all the things she wanted to take to the hospital just in case she needed to stay there. She wanted to take all the baby stuff that I didn't see as necessary but, I gotta do what she says since she's really moody and I don't want to cause an argument.

—Baby can you grab my pink bag with all my skin stuff please?— Savanna said while looking for more things to take.

—Yes babe going— I said as I walked to the bathroom.

—oh and grab my perfume— she said.

—okay— I said entering the bathroom again to look for the perfume.

(...)

—babe can you grab my— she said as she suddenly grabbed her lower stomach —oh ouch— she said in pain.

—princess we should've gone to the hospital hours ago, I'll come back if you need anything else, but please, let's go— I said. worried and starting to panic.

okay, I know it might sound a bit dramatic, but my girlfriend was having bad contractions and she had twins in there! It's the first time I'm going through this too, so it's all a new experience.

—baby I can't even walk, oh my— she said while having another contraction —baby please help me it hurts— she said now at the verge of tears.

—babe- I- um- try to stay calm I'll carry you to the car— I said grabbing all the bags and rushing to the car so I could help Savanna as soon as I could.

—okay but hurry, please, it hurts— she said now crying.

I ran to the car and came back as fast as I could. I was definitely not prepared for this moment, and seeing my girl in pain was like watching a horror movie for sure.

(...)

We were in the car already and Savanna was getting contractions every time with a shorter time in between.

—are you good baby?— I said while kissing her hand.

—are you kidding Griff? I feel like I'm dying right now!— she said almost shouting which scared me if i'm being honest.

—oh I'm sorry baby I....—

—don't be sorry just, hurry up!— she said while grabbing her stomach in pain again.

(...)

—um yes hello, my girlfriend has been having really bad contractions and she's in really bad pain and- and- could you just see if she's ready?— I said to the receptionist with my heart pounding really fast.

—oh yes yes, whats her name?— she said really calmly.

—Savanna Winter— I said looking at Sav who was outside in the car.

—ok, bring her in I'll call the nurses so they can take her to the 5th floor. You'll stay here signing some papers and then I'll take you to her room— she said while dialing the nurses, I supposed.

(...)

—and that was the last one, thanks Mr Johnson. Now I'll take you to the room— the receptionist said.

I had just finished signing the papers for Sav to stay in the hospital and some other things they asked me to.

Now this woman was taking me to the floor were Sav was. I was kinda nervous since I didn't know what would happen when I entered that room. What if I found Sav in the middle of giving birth?! or what if she was having really bad contractions and she was in pain and crying and and-

—hello! Mr. Johnson were here!— the lady said as she waved a hand in front of my face.

—oh sorry— I said ashamed.

I entered the room and Sav was there laying in this bed with her eyes closed while a nurse was standing in front of the bed.

—hi baby— Savanna said as she saw me entering the room.

—Babe! are you ok? everything alright? how are you feeling? are the contractions too bad?— I said altered.

—Griff calm down baby! I'm alright everything is ok— she said while I gave her a kiss on the forehead —I already got an epidural so the doctor will come in any minute and we'll start— she said super calm.

—b-babe aren't you scared?— I said almost shaking.

she chuckled —scared of what?— she gave me a kiss —relax, everything is going to be ok—

(...)

hysterical crying was heard around the room. "bring this!" bring that!" is all you could hear apart from the crying. Our first baby was just born after 2 hours and it was a girl! She was so cute.

—okay babe you got only one more baby to go— I said while I grabbed her hand —everything is going to be fine—

—okay momma now push again— the doctor said.

—you're doing great! two more times and the baby is out!— she kept saying.

—oh they got a lot of hair!— the doctor said as a little head came out.

—you're doing great princess just two more times and it's done!— I said as I kissed her forehead.

(...)

we were 4 hours into trying to finish with this and Savanna was exhausted and wanted to give up already when suddenly...

—oh no— the doctor said as the second baby came out.

—wh-what happened Dr. Linaeu? Is everything ok with the baby?— I said starting to panic.

—to the NEO, to the NEO, now!— she said while taking the baby.

—omg Griff are they ok?— said Sav exhausted from pushing.

—I- I don't know babe, I hope so— I said as I bit my lip and went to a nurse who was outside the room.

—hey, uh is everything ok with the second baby?— I asked as I approached him.

—I'm afraid it's not Mr. Johnson, your second baby girl was not breathing... they're trying to save her but it's a hard work. I'm sorry— he said as he patted my back.

—Here is your baby girl, congratulations!— Dr. Lineau said as she handed Sav the new born.

—what happened to- to my other girl?— I asked at the verge of tears.

—I'm so sorry guys— she said looking down —I did everything I could to save her but... she was really little and had almost no strength to survive. I'm sorry I wasn't able to save her— the doctor said as she took something out of her pocket —here's a little footprint from her so you can at least have something— she said as she went outside the room —again, I'm really sorry—

Today it's Nala's first month! We're doing this little dinner with our parents at home.

I'm really really happy with my baby girl, she's been the light of our lives during this month. I am really the happiest man on earth with my two princesses by my side, and my third princess up there taking care of us in the sky.

Hey I'm back! I'm sorry for taking so long to update. I promise I will try to update more frequently from now on but school is really hard right now :(
