part 5- alive and free

SAM'S POV

"we run this shit!" kallie, bella, jordyn, and mariana are running out of their keep towards brandon and chris.

she's so perfect.

"don't ya think that new girl kallie is like so hot. i would hit that ass!" i turn around and see jake, the schools biggest jerk and man whore.

"of course you would say that." jake and i used to be best friends in elementary up until 7th grade. he just had to ruin it by becoming a total jackass.

"wouldn't you though? hit it?"

"fuck off jake." i leave jake and walk over to the group. kallie looks so natural with everyone. she fits right in. "you guys ready to win this!"
everyone starts chanting and jumping around getting all hyped. chris stands up on his car getting prepared for his annual speech.

"attention fellow high schoolers! each team was assigned a color correct? i want each team to find their golf cart and get situated. i will give you guys a few minutes to do that. once the time is up i will honk this horn and you guys are off! make sure to be back by 11 p.m. sharp. anyone who doesn't make it back in time is eliminated! each person in each group gets $200 each which can be found in the console of your golf cart. the object of the game is to find the most items you can! whoever wins gets a whole week at my family's huge beach house! on the count of 3 run to your golf cart and get ready for a blast! 1...2...3! go!" our team runs to the blue golf cart. the girls start decorating it with streamers. brandon organizes the money and passes it out to everyone. i sit in the drivers seat because i'm obviously the fastest driver. "times up! on your mark... get set... go!" i drive off the opposite way everyone is going.

"wait seen we supposed to go that way?" asks kallie.

"no! they're a bunch of idiots and don't know the shortcut!" i yell over the blaring music. as soon as we know it we make it to the town and there are no other teams to be found. we hid our cart at the back of the first shop we stopped at. we run inside and decide to assign each person to a shop. this round was kallie's shop. we all scattered around the shop picking up things that added up to $200. we did this same thing with almost every shop around us. when we used up every bit of our money we decided that since we still had a little bit more time we would go have some fun. we pulled up to the surf shop i work at and i asked my manager if we could have to store to ourselves. of course he agreed and we went inside. we put the music on the intercom and raid the store. i look over at kallie. she's smiling like crazy. it's so contagious. "hey come with me." i grab kallie's hand and i take her up to the top of the building. "do you remember this?"

"oh wow. yeah i remember." i just look at her staring at the beautiful sunset.

if only she looked at me like that.

"it's so beautiful." I look over at Kallie.

"yeah you are." she looks over at me like i was speaking a different language.

"you know, you were the first to ever tell me that. you actually were all of my firsts." she says softly.

"i want you."

i don't know why i said that. it just came out. i hope she doesn't freak out.

"me too."

KALLIE'S POV

sam looks at me and i look back. he steps closer as my heart beats faster. he grabs the side of my face. i grab the back of his neck. our lips brush against each other until they finally touch. soon enough we are all over each other.

"hey we got to get back to the," we both jump and look over at the door and see bella staring at us. "beach." she finished her sentence and runs off. we hurry down the stairs and grab our things. as i'm running out i see a stack of flyers that say "now hiring" i sneak one into my bag and run out. i hop into the drivers seat.

"hey i'm driving!" yells sam.

"no you're not! i know what i'm doing!" i drive past all of the golf carts swerving and turning. we finally make it to the beach and park. we grab everything we got and place it onto the table. chris and a few other people start counting all of the items in our bags. we anxiously sit back and wait for them to do everyone's.

"attention everyone! we have found our winner. the winner of the bang bonfire is... team blue!" we all jump up and down screaming like crazy. this was the most fun i had ever had in my entire life. chris tosses us the keys to the beach house and we run off to go check it out. it was huge! and by huge i mean a full out beach mansion! i take everyone back to my house and we make several stops to get things for the week. I say bye to Tia Isabel and head off.

"we are gonna have so much fun! it's insane!" yells jordyn. as sam is driving down the palm lane i stand up and throw my hands out into the air. i feel so, alive.
