Foederis woke up with the most terrible pains he's ever felt. It felt like someone was ripping out his nerves one by one.
He managed to balance himself and walk out of the ditch, hunched over from the spiking pain in his legs.
While finding his way back home, Foederis went to scratch his neck and felt what seemed to be scars from bite marks. He brushed it off, thinking that he might've fallen in the ditch and hit his head on the way down.
Once Foederis got to his apartment, he rushed straight to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face. When he looked up, he noticed that his reflection was gone.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing... actually... he couldn't believe what he couldn't see.
Foederis began wiping the mirror, then wiping his eyes. He said to himself, "I just need to eat something." He ran to the kitchen and heated up some leftover soup. When going to eat the soup with a spoon, his hand began to burn. Like he placed it on a hot stove.
He began to pick up the pieces. His lack of reflection, the scars on his neck, and he then remembered that his silverware was made of silver. Foederis knew what he'd become. A vampire.
