A baby cries alone in a basket in front of the door to the local orphanage. The wind howls as the snow falls, the swaddled baby unable to fend for itself at a measly three months of age.
Baby Jungkook cries and cries, but at the dead of night with a snowstorm raging, nobody can hear his desperate cries for help.
Or so it seems.
Park Jimin, the prince of the snow fairies, is around the building when he hears the baby cry. Worried, the small creature darts to the side of the child and climbs into the basket with him.
Jungkook's big brown eyes take in the wingless fairy with interest, entranced by the beautiful person who is just inches in height. The baby's crying stops, but he continues to shiver.
Jimin bites his lip as he looks around and notices the blue to the baby's complexion. If he doesn't do anything, the baby will die.
Exhaling, Jimin presses his lips to the human's forehead and transfers some of his magic into the baby's little body.
Slowly, the baby's skin starts to liven up as his temperature rises to a safer degree. The fairy wipes his brow out of relief, but his eyes widen as he notices the baby's hair shifts from a dark brown to a lighter shade. Jimin has never used magic on a human before, so he is worried he may have done more harm than good, but when he's graced by the baby's mellifluous laughter, some of the tension leaves.
Climbing out of the basket, the fairy hops and makes his way up the railing and crawls up the brick wall until he reaches knocker, which is much too heavy for him to use in his current state.
The bluenet scowls before hopping down and transforming into a larger form, surprising the child.
Jimin places his finger to his lips, silver eyes pulling warm brown ones into a trance. The human-sized fairy leans down and moves some of the baby's hair out of his face and boops his nose before standing straight and using the knocker to the orphanage.
It takes time, but eventually, the fairy hears someone coming to answer the door. In a scramble, Jimin reverts to his natural state and gives the little human one last glance before running off to his domain, never to interact with a human again.
Author's Note: This story is so cute. I'm excited. I couldn't sleep because it's all I could think about.
