Jungkook
"How do you do that?" Jimin breathes out, withholding from ghosting his fingers over the canvas. "It looks so much like me, but so much better. You're amazing, Jungkook."
I smile, proud he likes my art. He never tires of it and that is why I'll never tire of creating artistic renditions of the bluenet. He is my ultimate muse. I could never ask for anyone better.
"Thank you. I swear you look much better in person though." I giggle, cuddling into his side as he studies the art piece.
He scowls. "There's something about the way you put me on the page that makes me seem magical." He turns his head to look at me.
I look right back, the distance between us sparse. "That's because you are magical, Jimin."
"Well, I am a fairy—"
"No, you," I clarify, blushing. "Your face, your voice, your touch, your smell, your personality. Even your name is magical, Jimin."
The fairy smiles gently and pushes some of my hair behind my ear before kissing my forehead. "Thank you, Jungkook. How about I show you some real magic?"
My eyes widen and I hug his arm. "Oh, would you, Jiminie? I've always wondered what you could do. Please let me see, Minnie. I won't tell anyone. I promise."
He smiles and holds his other hand out, palm facing toward the sky as a small snowman materializes on it, a miniature cloud snowing on it."
I gasp, grabbing his hand with both my own as I bring it to my eyes. "You're so amazing, Jimin. Oh my gosh. This is spectacular. You're perfect."
Spending time with Jimin is my favorite thing. I spend most of my day 'hunting' with Taehyung and Hoseok and meet out with my fairy once everyone is asleep. Since I never know what will come up, I don't show up at the same time and I often worry about Jimin waiting long for me. However, he always assures me he doesn't mind waiting and is glad to see me.
This has been going on for a while now.
Over the past few months or so and although I would never tell Jimin, I have been finding myself growing more and more jealous. It is already late December and Jimin has taught me a lot about fairy custom.
Apparently, even though the winter solstice is soon, it is a weeklong event with Jimin's coronation actually on the last day. It sounds exciting, but I get to play no part in it and it makes me all the more reason to be upset.
The thought of the literal man of my dreams finding a soulmate makes me more depressed than the word itself. I want Jimin all to myself. It isn't fair that he'll find someone, get his wings, and I'll be left all alone, wishing I was something I wasn't. I just want him to love me the way I do him.
Even if he were to never find someone, his kingly duties will prevent him from seeing me as often and I'm afraid he'll forget about me and eventually stop showing up. That kills me inside.
However, I want Jimin to be happy above all else. If a soulmate comes along and if he forgets all about me, I will be happy for him, even if my heart is broken beyond repair. You cannot force someone to love you back and I would never keep him from whoever makes him the happiest.
"Kookie, what's wrong? You look upset." Jimin massages my scalp. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
I sniffle, rubbing my nose. "I just wish I could see more of your world, stay in your castle. Everything seems so far away and untouchable and I know that I shouldn't, but I really want to experience it."
The bluenet smiles. "That wish, I may be able to grant."
My eyes widen. "Really?"
He nods and places the small snowman on the ground before cupping his hands together and blowing into the small hole he leaves between them, his eyebrows gently angled in concentration. When he is finished, a ring of ice is left behind, the craftsmanship so perfect that it resembles perfectly clear glass.
"Woah, that's beautiful," I whisper, in awe.
Jimin smiles and grabs my hand, placing it on my left ring finger. "Although this ring is made of ice, it will never melt. Whenever you wish it, this ring will make it possible for you to become fairy-sized. That will make it possible for you to stay with me. That is what you want, correct?"
I stare at Jimin, my heart's thumping so intense that I can hear it in my ears. "Y-Yes, it's all I want, Jimin. Thank you so much."
He giggles and ruffles my hair. "You're welcome, Kookie. Maybe you can even see my coronation? We could celebrate the winter solstice together."
"Please." I grab his hands. "Please, I want to do that so badly, Jimin."
"Then your wish is my command, Jungkook."
Author's Note: Aww. Jungkook is going to celebrate with Jimin. Nothing could possibly go wrong... right?
