Looking at the stars, reminded me of her. The one who made me smile, she was my whole life, the reason I thrived. Where is she, her hugs, comfort, and her motherly aura? That she always had around her. I remember her scent, that always contain the smell of her baked goods and the lavender perfume she often use that cling to her. Constantly, having a smile on her face like nothing can throw her down, or make her fall. That was her motto, never to fall. The irony was she actually fall from existence, my life.
FLASHBACK
"Arianna! Where are you?", she called out. "You can't hide from me forever, let me win, please. I don't want to lose to a 8-year old." I started giggling, trying to keep quiet, but they echoed through the garden. Knowing I let my hideout to be known. I ran, with my mother behind me, laughing uncontrollably.
"Come here you little, trickster", she said with a playfully deep voice.
Her running after me, caused me to run faster. When I thought I was further away I looked behind me, to check of my mother was close to me. I tripped, unaware of the rock ahead of me. Falling I scraped my knees and hands. "Ouch", I started whimpering. But, when my mother hand hold my leg down to check. I stopped, it was like the warmth of her hands was giving me strength, healing me. " Good job princess", she said. I frowned confused, when she saw that I stopped. Thinking to myself what exactly I did that made her said that. She tap my nose laughing, still in question I asked,
"At what, mama?", I said, whispering in a shy voice.
" At stopping from crying, its only a weakness you know, she said in a serious voice. Paying rapt attention to her I listen. "And you know that-""WEAKNESS IS NOT ACCEPTED, SIMILAR TO FALLING, IT CAN NEVER BE AND NEVER WILL!", I yelled in a strong commanding voice, cutting her off. My mom smiled up to me, the sun reflecting off on her cocoa skin color. Even though her lips smiled, her brown eyes stayed fierce, and solemn. Sighing, she got up, the smile gone. Picking me up, and setting me on the table that hold the equipment's for gardening. She bend down, to gaze at me, caressing my face with a light touch, showing the warmth of her love with just a touch and gaze. " I don't want to seem harsh on you, it's just-" she starts, but decided to not finish. We sat staring at each other, the essence of mama food coming from the kitchen. It was silent until my stomach growled expressing my need for food. Mama grinned at me, shaking her head. Giggling, I told her " What time is it-"
"LUNCH TIME!!", we yelled together. "Race you" I said to mama, the excitement clear in my voice. Not learning our lesson, me and my mother footsteps padded down the floor. " I'm gonna get you, you-
FLASHBACK ENDED
I quickly got up, hearing the rustle of the trees in the woods. I grabbed the item closest, that happened to be a machete. Trying to silence the hitching of my breath, the anticipation was slowly going through me, dreading for it to be a wild animal. You never know what belongs in the forest. It is kind of idiotic, to live in the forest but when you are desperate and want to isolate yourself. You make dumb decisions.
