In case it isn't totally clear, I've given the characters from Dual Comforts Before Dawn names.
The one previously identified as 'she' is Cyridil.
The one previously identified as 'he' is Kovon.
Sorry if I added a lot more lore and things to this one, but I had a lot of ideas in my head I had to get out. This all originated from the phrase "never touch a dragon's horde" and just grew from there. Hope you all like it!

Cyridil let out a soft hiss between her teeth, canines sinking into her lip until she tasted blood.

How dare they?

Her grip tightened around the leather-wrapped hilt of her damascus blade, hearing it creak somewhere in the back of her mind. The rest of it was focused on the figures perched on the rooftop in front of her.

And the slumped form held up between the two of them.

A growl building in the back of her throat, Cyridil drew her other blade. A wickedly sharp masterpiece of her own making, dipped in a rare lethal poison which had no antidote. They'd soon learn to fear her.

"Scared, little lass?" One of them called down from the rooftop, arrogance echoing clear through their voice. One of Cyridil's previous instructors, and one that she'd loathed. They went by the name Hinoye, even though everyone knew that wasn't their real name.

"To be completely honest with you Hinoye, I think she looks rather terrified," taunted the other, who was called Eihiro. She rested one clawed hand on Kovon's shoulder, digging it in until he let out a pained groan.

See, Cyridil might once have been fond of Eihiro, but the past really couldn't matter less in this moment. Her vision was blanketed in red, a voice screaming in the back of her mind to tear this person limb from limb.

Cyridil's eyes gleamed with an unearthly light. She let out a roar of fury, launching herself up towards the moonlit silhouettes. The two of them, having anticipated her moves, were already out of reach by the time that she'd landed.

Cyridil turned on the spot, leaping at Hinoye with her poisoned blade outstretched. They moved around the strike, throwing a small wave of throwing stars forward even as they kept one hand fastened around Kovon's throat.

She flicker her other sword forward, letting the shuriken clatter harmlessly off the damascus. Cyridil flipped backwards over a strike from Eihiro, swinging her poisoned sword with the same motion.

Eihiro flickered around the edge of the attack, using her intangibility to her greatest advantage. Her mahogany skin blending in with the dark once she activated her power.

"Poor little thing, Cyri still can't land a hit after all these years!" Her high, bitter laughter echoed off of the buildings even as the sound of metal clanging harshly did the same.

Hinoye pressed forward with one of their skurikens in hand, trying to catch Cyridil between them and their partner. Eihiro moved toward her in the same heartbeat, one of her many knives outstretched.

Cyridil flitted to the side, letting the tip of their poisoned blade trail over Hinoye's side. They let out a shriek and pulled away from the rest of the attack. Cyridil let out another snarl, seeing that she hadn't been able to slice deeper into their side.

Even so, one of her greatest advantages in causing a quick death was that aforementioned poison. She could already see the dark veins spreading up the side of their neck, as well as hear the massive amounts of cursing.

She focused on the poison already in Hinoye's body, forcing it to spread faster and eat away at their flesh. She could feel cells dying and their organs starting to collapse under her rage.
