The day before the party Louis walked up to Maisey, over the past week or so they had talked more and gotten to be good friends, “So….about tomorrow…”
Maisey looked up at him, her signature smile adorning her face, "Soooo? You coming??”
Louis hesitated, “Can we…ummm…talk…in private before I answer?”
She raised an eyebrow and nodded slightly, "Okie Dokie..”
Louis quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her into an empty hallway, “I ummm….I’m not exactly….all here I guess you could say…”
"What do you mean?" Maisey asked, shifting her weight to her other foot as she stood.
Louis took a deep breath and explained, “I have a disorder that makes it ten times harder for me to show any form of emotion other then boredom then a normal person. So even if something would normally make someone happy, I don’t….I don’t feel anything,” Louis looked down, almost like he was ashamed of his disorder, “That’s why….why I don’t have many friends….”
Maisey tilted her head to the side and bent down so she could look up into his eyes, "Well, I'm your friend, and Niall is your friend, and Lily and Edward, Liam and Jessie are your friends. And Talia too! I think she's warming up to you. And, come on. I've gotten a smile out of you, like, twice. It was small, but it was a smile.”
Louis watched a tear drip down his nose and land on the ground, “Yeah, but they don’t know about the disorder. People tend to lose interest when they realize somethings broken.”
Maisey poked his shoulder lightly, "Dude, it's been a week. Talia and Liam would have left the second day if they'd have lost interest." She smiled softly, "And you're not broken. You're just a little different. That's okay! Lily is different too. She's got this hemophilia thing.”
“They probably thought that was just my personality,” Louis reasoned.
Maisey sighed lightly and hugged him, "Stop being such a downer, cup-half-empty person. Everyone likes you. So don't be sad, please?”
Louis let out a small chuckle as he hugged her back, “I just tell you I have a disorder that makes it near impossible to be happy and you tell me to stop being such a downer?”
She grinned and closed her eyes as they hugged, "And I got a laugh out of ya!”
Louis let out a heavy breath, “So about this party tomorrow..”
Maisey felt her cheeks grow warm as she pulled back and looked up at him, "Are you coming??”
Louis shrugged, “I guess, but I might be a bit late. My sisters want to help me get ready and there will probably be some conflict between them on choosing what I’m going to wear and stuff like that.”
Maisey grinned and hugged him again, "Yay!!!”
Louis felt his cheeks turn a bit red at this, “Mmm…”
She sighed happily and stepped back, crossing her arms behind her neck, "It is going to be completely awesome!!”
“Hopefully,” Louis shrugged again.
Maisey chuckled lightly, "Oh, come on, it'll be great!!!”
“I’m just hoping my sisters don’t go overboard with the whole ‘makeover’ thing,” Louis sighed as he put air quotes around ‘makeover’.
"I'm sure it'll turn out just fine!" "Maisey!”
Talia called as she made her way to them, slinging her arm around Maisey's shoulders, "Are y'all coming to lunch or not??”
