THE MOMENT WE MEET
CHAPTER TWO
After she was done with hugging Bella like a teddy bear, she finally started talking with my mum. I needed to watch her talking, I needed to form an opinion about her. Every time she looked at me, she blocked my mind and I couldn't help it but stay frozen from her eyes landing on me. I almost forgot that we had already arrived, all my attention was wasted on one person; Jamie. Who is she and how can she seem so close to us? How can she seem so friendly, and trustful to me? How am I so familiar with her look?
"Vicky, are you feeling dizzy?" Jamie asked me. Her voice is so calm, and trustful, and she sounds so familiar when she calls my name. She is not shy around me, she talks to me like she's known me for years. I want to act normal, and talk straight with her just like I do with other people, but I don't know if I can do the same with her. Something deep inside me makes me either too shy or too cautious to talk to her. But why? Well, maybe because I don't know if she's a total stranger or a real aunt of mine. I still don't know her exact relationship with mum. I am sure she's not a sister of my mother's, 'cause mom doesn't have a sister.
"No, I'm okay. I'm just a bit tired." I said, as I was checking out her dirty blond hair.
"Oh okay. I have painkillers with me, so you can tell me if you need one." She said and looked into my eyes, locking her look with mine.
"We should go home now, shouldn't we?" She whispered, her eyes leaving mine and landing on mum. "Come on, let's go to the car."
Mum and I, quickly took our suitcases, and followed Jamie outside. The parking area was somewhere near the airport, so it didn't take us very long to get there. My eyes were exploring everything around me, as we were walking. There were trees everywhere around the airport. Big fields with flowers were surrounding these small houses with brown and red roofs. The sun was shining, and it was lighting up all those different, beautiful colors around the airport. The nature was everywhere, but the building of the airport was reminding me that were was a city near by.
Before I could even escape from my thoughts, we were there. Mum and Jamie started putting the suitcases in the port baggage of her grey Jeep car, and I stayed next to them holding Bella's hand.
Jamie, or auntJamie has apparently the most beautiful car I have ever seen in my entire life. I can't tell her that of course... I barely said 'nice to meet you' before, so I don't think it's already time to start commenting on her car now. I wonder how she can drive such a big car by herself, as a woman. To my opinion, it is much more difficult for a woman to drive a big car. My mum was always afraid to even drive a middle sized car all by herself.
"Vicky, you can just open the door and get it. Don't be shy." Jamie said, as she was pushing the last suitcase into the port baggage.
I nodded, trying not to be rude and slowly opened the door. I climbed in the back seat after I helped Bella get in. I stayed quiet and kept looking outside, until Jamie shut the portbagage door with a strength that made her huge car shake.
Mum laid her head back on the passenger seat -where she was sitting- and waited for Jamie to take the keys and start driving. I looked at the small mirror and saw mum holding her face. She looked so exhausted. Jamie turned the radio on, as she started driving. There was an English song on the radio, and that made me wonder if the radio station was generally English, by playing English songs. Who knows..?
I heard mum giggling with Jamie, while I was looking at the green fields beside the big highway.
"You're going to love her, she is just like you." Mum quietly said, and let a small laugh. My eyes suddenly turned to their side, and their voices became louder in my mind. Was she talking about me?
