THE MOMENT WE MEET
CHAPTER ONE
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are almost ready to take off. Please, put on your seatbelts and turn off your electronic devices. You may use them in the airplane mode as soon we stop taking off, and start flying straight to our destination. The flight will last 9 hours and 12 minutes. Please follow carefully all the safety rules. Have a nice flight, and thank you for choosing our airlines.
The airplane was slowly getting more speed, while three stewardesses were showing everyone how to put on their seatbelts. I wasn't listening to anything of what they were saying. Knowing that I had already made my last step in Florida made me sick. My shoes weren't gonna walk on the dry ground of Florida anymore. I was looking outside through the little window, and scanning every inch of the ground and the beautiful sky, trying to save that last view of Flrida in my mind. Sweet Florida. I'm gonna miss my home.
"Excuse me, can you please put on your seatbelt?" A stewardess asked me with a serious look, while she was passing by our seats. I looked at her and smiled politely, trying not to piss her off. "Sorry." I said, while I was trying to find the other half of my seatbelt.
I finally locked my seatbelt and laid back looking outside.
Please turn all of your electronic devices off. We are ready to take off. Thank you. A young woman said on the microphone.
The flaps on the wings were moving, and the sound of the air passing through them, was getting louder and louder, as the plane was running on the airstrip. The faster it was running, the louder that sound was getting. I laid my head back on my comfortable seat, and closed my eyes letting this annoying, sound sneak into my ears.
The wheels of the plane made a weird sound, and the plane suddenly left the ground like a little bird.
"Bye home." I whispered, as I was opening my eyes.

I suddenly hear my mum's voice calling my name. I slowly opened my eyes, and looked at her with a sleepy look. "What?"
"Would you like tea or coffee, sweetie?" She whispered clearly. I breathed with the top of my longs and looked up. There was one stewardess standing right next to our seats. She was looking at me, and she was smiling as always. Stewardesses...alwayshappy.
'Coffee or tea?' That typical question you get during a flight...
I kept my eyes closed, trying not to wake up. I wanted to sleep, I wanted to forget about my sadness and start dreaming. But it was impossible to sleep during that flight. I managed to move from my comfortable position and sit up straight. I opened my eyes and took a quick look at the window.
"Tea please," I said, and glanced at my mum.
I closed my eyes for a second trying to clear my vision, and shook my head to get my hair off my face. Wow, sleepingin the planeisnotmything.
"Here you are." My mum, said handing me a plastic cup. The tea was warm, but not warm enough to make my fingers burn, while holding that small plastic cup.
"Thanks," I whispered.
The smell of it, was slowly coming up, and sneaking into my nose. Green tea. Vanilla green tea.
I looked outside, and there were no clouds. A beautiful, dark blue color was the only thing to see. Somewhere far in that endless ocean of blue, I could see some red/yellow light coming from the horizon. It was an ocean of beautiful colors on top of a dark, mysterious ocean which was separating two continents.
