THE TRAIN CAME TO A STOP,
students crowded the train corridors, fighting their way out of the train. Corrine, Mirren, Dawson, Harry, Ron, Y/N, And Hermione got off the train and slowly got into the carriage. Harry shoved his hands into his pockets only to find a hair pin in one; Y/N's hairpin, Harry thought.
He looked around his group of friends, and seemed unable to find Y/N, His Y/N. He soon found himself becoming desperate to find the girl with the soft smile and light e/c — That was, until he saw her with them.
The Slytherins.
Why would she, hang out with them? Harry thought bitterly until he saw Florus right by Y/N's side. But still, even if Florus was a Slytherin, Y/N had no reason to hang out with Malfoy. Then Harry's eyes widened. She was hanging out with Malfoy! And Zabini, Parkinson, Nott, And even Goyle and Crabbe.
"Ron," Harry said slowly, turning towards the Gryffindors behind him only to see them all staring at The Slytherin's in spite of themselves. "What the hell . . ." Corrine murmured to herself, her face heating up.
"Come on, guys," Said Hermione's lightly as if she hadn't noticed her best friend speaking the group whom teased her and called her vile names. "Let's go to the great hall, I'm starving."
The Group of Gryffindors retreated to the Castle, all expect Mirren; who was checking behind herself to make sure none of the Gryffindors had noticed her absence. She slowly made her way towards the Slytherins and Y/N; each of their eyes slowly looking towards her, and yet Y/N greeted her with a warm, friendly smile. "Guys, this is Mirren Coldwell." And then, each of their expressions changed. Theodore Nott was the first to speak—
"Theodore Nott," He Rose his hand, a sly smirk forming o to his face as he spoke again. "— single."
Blaise Zabini rolled his eyes. "Coldwell . . ." Said Pansy Parkinson slowly, her eyes drifting up to down on Mirren, who held her head slightly higher. Draco Malfoy though seemed slightly annoyed at the girl with the short black hair for not recognizing the name Coldwell.
"God Parkinson, do we have to draw everything out for you?" Snapped Draco, making Pansy look at him, her eyes filled with hatred, but she didn't say anything. Draco stared at the Parkinson girl for a few seconds more, waiting for her to suddenly screech or make a ruthless comment to him, and when she didn't, he looked away; satisfied.
"So Coldwell . . ." His voice was smooth, not harsh and bitter like it previously was when he spoke to Pansy. "Your father — He played for the Holyhead Harpies?" "Yes." "What position?" "He was keeper as well Capitan." Draco's eyebrows rose, his eyes drifted slowly, and unconsciously down Mirren; whom stared straight at him as if he wasn't 'checking her out'.
"Hey Gray," Said Theodore, a grin playing on his lips. "We've got a new technique — in quidditch, I mean." He added hastily at the look Pansy was giving him. "We're definitely beating you Gryffindorks this time." Confidence and Determination was in The Slytherin's voice as he spoke, making Y/N smirk to herself; She'd get Pansy to tell her later. Pansy Parkinson wasn't a filthy slut like everyone made her out to be, she was actually really kind and loyal, she and Y/N were on speaking terms before, but never spoke in hallways or had sleepovers till recently with her father's plans to invite his old school mates and their intelligent slytherin children, so when Pansy was over last year at the annual Gray Family Party, Y/N and her became closer.
"Really?" Said Y/N as Theodore nodded proudly. "Wait — we came up with a technique?" Said Blaise, his voice amused; Theodore looked at him, wide-eyed and upset. "No, we don't." Spat Theo quietly, as if Y/N couldn't hear, when really she could hear every word. Blaise though, was smart and knew what he was doing.
Blaise Zabini was mostly with Pansy and Y/N throughout the parties and him and Y/N have been freinds since they first met; age 5.
"Excuse me," Y/N heard Mirren said sternly to Draco, who's sly smirk was slowly fading; Y/N had no idea what he had done, she was busy listening to Theodore and Blaise argue. "I happen to believe arranged marriages can't always be stopped by those being put to the marriage." She spat. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed as she watched Mirren walk away, angered tears falling from her eyes.
Y/N hurriedly said goodbye and ran after Mirren. Once she came closer to Mirren, her big blue eyes were glossy, her freckles face was pink, and her small point chin was held high. Y/N struggled keeping up with Mirren, who was speed-walking, her chest heaving high and low.
"Ren," Y/N breathed. "What's wrong?" Mirren slowly came to a stop, her breathing staying strong; chest heaving up and down heavily. "Why . . ." She sighed angrily. "Do I have . . . have to have an arranged marriage?" Y/N's eyes went round. "Mirren, what — who are you supposed to marry." "I don't know!" Cried Mirren, tears spilling from her eyes like water falls. "Probably some rich,
pure-blood man-whore!" "Mirren—" "What? It's probably true and you damn know it." Sorrowful.
Y/N felt sorrowful for Mirren.
After a while, Y/N spoke — "Mirren, we better get going. The Gryffindors will notice we're missing." She had mumbled quietly to Mirren, who hastily wiped her tears and took a deep breathe before walking into the castle, Y/N following behind.
