It was around 11:00 AM when I woke up. Thursday's mean no classes for me so I can wake up anytime before 2. Before 3 because unfortunately Thursdays also mean work.

I work at a local convenient store/gas station. It's pretty easy and I have a lot of time to do nothing, but it still isn't exactly my idea of 'fun.'

On the way in, I decided to swing by the Starbucks near my apartment complex. It was larger than the one that Chris and I went to yesterday, and larger means more people, and more people typically means busier. I suppose that's the price you gotta pay for locational convenience though.

Pulling up to the drive through speaker, I realized that I didn't even know what I wanted yet.

"Hi welcome to Starbucks what can I get you today?" A voice asked over the speaker. He sounded kind of like that guy from the other day, but I knew it wasn't him because he worked at the other one.

"Oh uh, sorry one second," I stuttered. Hearing that voice made me even more scatter brained than I was before.

"Okay no problem," he said back.

"I think I'm just gonna get a large ice coffee and classic breakfast sandwich," I replied, not needing the time I requested to decide.

"Anything else for you today?" He asked.

"Nope that'll be all."

It was quite for a moment before he responded.

"Alright that'll be $8.29 you can drive up to the window please."

I checked my phone, not being able to drive up yet due to the traffic of the line.

When I was finally at the window, a man handed me my stuff. Unsurprisingly, he wasn't the same person that I saw yesterday, but why did I feel kind of bummed? I'm not the type to fall for strangers. That'll only slow me down.

"Thank you," I said, accepting my coffee and then the small brown bag that held my breakfast.

Work was slow that day, as predicted, and uneventful, as predicted. I did however manage to get some work for school done. I'm excited to go to class on Monday and show my professor that I understand now. He never really liked me much, but maybe that'll change once he sees my work.

As I was restocking a small selection of serial at the end of aisle 3, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

Blake from work: hey man. Is there any way you'd be able to cover my shift from 8:00-2:00 today? I saw that you were scheduled to get out at the same time my shift starts. My cat is really sick.

Bull shit. His cat was "sick" last week. Plus, my shifts almost over anyways.

Me: eh sorry man I really can't. I've gotta be up early tomor

'But what if the cat really was sick?' I thought to myself. 'No. There's no way.'

I finished typing my sentence and right when I was about to hit send, the angel on my shoulder got the best of me and I erased it.

Me: yeah no problem :)

Besides, Blake is an older guy and he's worked here longer. What if he becomes one of the managers some day? I gotta stay on his good side.

As stupid as it sounds, I was really looking forward to swinging by the Starbucks near Chris on my way home and maybe seeing that guy...

As I hit the send button, I shook my head with a smirk. God what's wrong with me? Why am I so smitten over a guy who I don't even know the name of?
