Ms Ow, if you are reading this,
happy teacher's day!!!

Oh yes, did I tell you that my English is the worst among English, Math, and Humanities?

I did, and yes. English is still my worst subject among my core subjects after all 🙄

Well, English as my worst subject does not mean that I actually hate English though.

I actually never told Ms Ow, my English teacher and my Form Teacher (this year), that I love her class but, she could probably see that I was clearly enjoying class (even though I was really tired).

Well since P3, my English flourished under the guidance of my primary school English teacher. However, things got messed up when I reached Sec 1.

English seemed like something I have never seen before. The format of Editing was completely different from primary school editing, and there were no MCQs (sad-). And comprehension got much more difficult that I failed my first class test. Well, basically, the whole English syllabus seemed alien to me (maybe not for some of us).

I remember Ms Ow being so upset that I got sooo low for my class test that, she had to talk to me after class (sry ms ow 🤭)

Well basically, Ms Ow got angry once again, when I did not hand in my 'Holiday Homework' in time.

And since then, I was telling myself to 'HAND IN YOUR CHER'S HOMEWORK LA IDIOT"

And yes, I started to hand in homework on time and get it back on time. Since then, I gradually improved in English.

Although I only managed to get 64% for my End-Of-Year exam, I am still blessed that I had a teacher who still cared for me even though I didn't hand in homework on time.

2021:

It's the first day of school (omg yess- 🥳🤩)

I am finally reunited with my Sec 1 classmates (as Sec 2 classmates are the same people from your Sec 1 class)

I see the same 35 faces the same 2 form Teachers' faces and wait... there's another addition???

I see a familiar face... wait a minute...

IS THAT MS OW???

Woah, imma get scolded like bajillion times by ms ow for not handing in homework again...

Second of all, she's my Form Teacher???? Hell nah... (I deeply regret for screaming NOOO now- :-) )

However, English class wasn't what I expected. Of course, the first lesson was all the explanations of Her (or should I say Our) expectations, the topics and stuffs. Yes, it was pretty much, dry.

The second came but, it was different than what I thought. It was not dry like the first lesson or last year (yes, I thought English was boring then). It was fun. It was even more amusing that there was another teacher joining us. Since there are two Teachers in charge for English, ms ow and her sometimes took turns to teach the class (although it was chaotic at times).

Then, as time passed by. English lesson became fun. We had activities like, reading time which is held in the last 10-15 minutes of English in Wednesday and Share The News on Thursdays!

When the weighted assessment came, I was nervous as my essay plot was really long and was afraid that I could not finish the essay within the time limit. I was only at the climax when Ms Ow instructed us to stop writing.

I was dead meat. I thought that I actually failed English however, when we got our results back, I was surprised to see that I actually scored 21/30 for my essay.

It turned out that, ms ow was marking our WA based on the topic and language use instead. I was relieved because, if she wanted the complete story, I could have failed the whole test. 😃✋

Dear Ms Ow,

Thank you for helping me improve in my English. And making class fun :D
