The sky was on fire
The clouds turned to dust
I have memories of
The taste of sticky sweet ash
Filling my lungs
The sky was on fire
I was burning it down
The sky was on fire
Cause you were buried in the ground
Embers of a bloody dawn filled the air
I wanted to leave
Felt like nobody cared
The sky was on fire
How brightly it burned
Rain drops ignite
And fall to the earth
Flames brushed the stars
I stand afar
Watching the sky burn
Wasn't sad but I cried
There was a void inside my mind
Everything went numb
Heart began to drum
You were dead and you were gone
Yeah, you left me here alone
The blaze began to spread
As I cried in my bed
Nightmares filled my mind
Wished it was I that died
Underneath the burning sky
