The love spell

(Quinn's POV)
Me and the other VK's were in the kitchen making the love spell into Cookies.
"Ok it says we need one tear. And I never cry" Mal said reading off from my spell book
"Let's just chop up some onions" Carlos suggested
"No!" Mal said
"It says one tear of human sadness and this love potion gets the best reviews so we have to follow it exactly" I said and Mal nodded

"A tears a tear" Jay said

"No its not Jay" I said

"Quinns right Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes but and emotional tear has more protein based hormones than a reflex tear" Evie corrected him.

"Listen to you" Mal said nudging Evie

"Science geek" I nudged her as well

"Am not" She giggled

"Yeah I knew that" Jay said

"Did not" Carlos said to him

the door opened to reveal Lonnie. Mal quickly grabbed a towel covering my spell book with it.

"There you are Quinn. All the girls want you to do their hair. Midnight snack? Whatcha making?" Lonnie said

"Nothing special" Mal said

"Just Cookies" I said before Lonnie dipped her finger in the batter "Oh no!" i said trying to stop her.

"What I'm not gonna double dip" She said after licking the batter off her finger.

"Do you feel anything?" Evie asked trying to see if the spell kicked in

"Yeah like maybe it might be missing something" I said trying not to look suspicious

"Hey there" Jay said in a flirty tone

"Could use some chips" Lonnie said walking towards the cabinets. I sighed in relief.

"And those are?" I said

"Chocolate chips just the most important food group" Lonnie said coming back with a glass bowl full of tiny brown things. She put the so called chocolate chips into the bowl and I just looked into the bowl. "Wait didn't your moms ever make you chocolate chip cookies?" She asked and we all look at her in confusion "Like when your feeling sad and they're warm out of the oven with a big old glass of milk and she makes you laugh and she just puts everything into perspective" Lonnie smiled while telling her story and I looked down into the batter sadly just remembering how bad all of our parents were. Especially my mom, she never loved me only used me for her plans to get off the Isle. I always listened to her trying to get her love and validation but nothing worked "Why are you all looking at me like that?" She asked and I looked up

"It's just different where were from" I said trying to hold my tears back

"well yeah I know I just thought. Even villains love their kids" she said and I shifted uncomfortable in the situation "Oh how awful" she said grabbing my hand. I looked up at her and saw a tear fall from her eye. I wiped the tear off her cheek and flicked it into the bowl as Mal grabbed the spoon and mixed it up

"Yeah big bummer but we've gotta get these into the oven. So thanks for stopping by I'll see you tomorrow, Evil dreams" I said pushing her out of the kitchen

"Bye" She said as I closed the door

"Yess!" I said

"Alright Boys cookie sheet, Evie oven" Mal said before the boys got a cookie sheet and Evie pre-heated the oven. I still couldn't get what Lonnie had said out of my brain.
