Everyone looked on with amusement as Saadhana jumped up and down in excitement...

As soon as the light came on her eyes registered the floating balloons in multi colours as if seeing them for the first time...

The cake was placed in the open to sky courtyard with the ground filled with Balloons...

A wooden board stood pillar to Pillar...with a white cloth pinned on...

The entire board was decorated with colourful paper fans...in multi colour and shapes...the middle part of the board had a Thermocoal cutout that spelt Happy Birrhday painted in colourful glitter...

A huge Saadhu sized silver foil balloon in the  shape of 1 stood on one side to the table swaying lightly tethered to the floor with sticky tapes...

The entire family stood looking at the cake their mouths wide open

The cake itself they were yet to taste...but on top of the cake were edible decorations resembling a scene from Dora...a cartoon that Saadhu was very fond of

In the middle of the cake stood a 3D picture cut out of Dora with her backup and Bujji..the map in her hand they stood in front of a small house made fully of gems ...

The whole top portion of the cake was sprinkled with finely minced pista creating the effect of a velvety grass ground...across the cake ran a blue meandering stretch resembling a stream...made from a mix of homemade Marzipan coloured blue .. in one corner stood a bridge across the stream made completely from sugar coated almonds..2 steps on either side..and an arch connecting both the banks...

And to finish of the visual appeal stood a mountain on the other corner made from kitkat bars arranged in the form of a mountain

Well of course they had saadhu at the Dora and Bujji cutout...but the adults were sooper impressed with the cake

Kathir had helped Mullai do some of the decorations at the shop...

Thr family had invited children from the neighbouring houses...the kids who were older were sooper impressed with the cake and all the detailing

Finally after Ashok clarified that he had taken photos of the cake from all different angles

They made Saadhu cut the cake...Dhanam holding her hand...with everyone else belting out a rather off key and a very loud version of Happy Birthday to you and when they clapped their hands at the end Saadhana was gurgling away...

Mullai and Meena quickly moved the cake to the kitchen while Jeeva and Kathir moved the table out of the way...

The courtyard was filled with more balloons ...

Ashok turned full time photographer for this event...and was busy making them stand in groups and clicking pictures...

After about 30 mts of this frenzy

They made the kids have food first...

Once the kids had food and left after wishing Saadhu once again the family sat down for dinner

Dhanam wanted all of them to sit down so she could serve...but Meena and Mullai would have none of it...

They placed all the dishes on the menu on a table ...and an impromptu buffet was ready...

Everyone could serve themselves and have their food standing or sitting...Kamakshi amma and Parvathy amma sat next to Lakshmi amma...who was being fed by Dhanam...Kalai soon joined them...
