SKYLER AND MARCUS HAD KISSED LAST NIGHT, BUT IT WAS ONLY A KISS nothing else. Though they were somewhat drunk and high the kiss felt like actual feelings were involved, what skyler said triggered everything. She meant it, she would choose anyone over him, she seen how ginny treated him and constantly chose hunter over him when Marcus was clearly the best choice.
She wanted to be there for him because that's what he deserved. He doesn't deserve someone so horrible like ginny, doesn't deserve a unappreciative sister like max, and he sure as hell doesn't deserve to sit and wait for ginny to come to him .
skyler took what her aunt said to heart and tried her best to prove her wrong. But she couldn't anymore, she still believes that a guy and a girl can be friends without a actual relationship, she just had to do it before it was too late, before marcus went off the rails and beats himself up for loving a girl like ginny.
The feelings weren't one sided though. Marcus felt some things too, it took him to be drunk to realize it but he felt it, skyler was the only girl who actually understood him and didn't think of him as the weird stoner kid. Didn't get mad at him when he made mistakes, she knew he was going through shit and he didn't even need to tell her.
