His Light

Chapter 2 - The Attack

~Noelles POV~
*I stood there after he ran off wondering what I did wrong, my wolf whines*

“What is wrong with mate?”

*I sighed* ¨I don't know Rose, but he seemed upset by something..” *I shook my head and put the thought at the back, I walked my way to the Pack house where my brother is. But I stop when I hear a dog barking, I shift and turn into my wolf form, I mind link my brother and Alpha Kegan as I´m running towards the Pack house*

*I pick up speed as the sound in coming closer* ¨There are hunters, I heard dogs barking near the west border.”

Kegan said “Okay, I will inform the pack, just quickly go to the safe house with everyone else.”

*As I made it into the pack house, I shifted back I grabbed my bag, going to a closet and changing in clothes, I then realized that Riven doesn't know about the hunters and he was near that area. I ran towards the back door to the cliff, where his scent is, I follow his scent and as I sense I´m closer I can hear fighting up ahead. When I got into the clearing, I seen Riven fighting, in his human form, I could see his muscles bulging all over his body, his bulkiness bulging through his torn short sleeve, his eyes showed intensity and coldness, his jawline was wide and narrow giving definition to his face, his nose was sharp and his eyes were growing darker with each second*

*I watched in awe as he slammed one hunter into the ground and his another with his water, I seen a third hit him with wolfsbane which he grabbed and threw off of him, he uses his water and hits all of the hunters at once, a hunter goes flying back into a tree, while I was shocked at the scene in front of me, one of the hunters dogs grabs my throat, I squirm as I try to fight back, I feel the dogs teeth dig into my throat, I yelped, but I feel the pain go away as the dog is ripped off of me by Riven, he helps me up, I look around at the bloody scene, hunters are thrown all around, they are either dead or barely alive by the looks of it*

*I stood there with a shocked look on my face* ¨Wow...¨ *I hear the sound of Riven´s husky, deep voice speak to me, it´s velvety rumble gave me chills*

Riven- *He looks at her, but his stare is kind and caring* ¨You okay?¨

*I looked up at him, his eyes are black and knowing I'm talking to his wolf I nod* ¨Yes, I´ll be fine.¨ *I hear the sound of my brother and Alpha Kegan coming with his pack* ¨Brother I-¨

*His tone is cold as he speaks* ¨My goddess, Noelle, get away from that beast you. Have you heard of the terrible things he has done?”

*I looked at my brother, kindly* “But he-”

Riven- *He steps away from her and said coldly* “Sorry for saving you sisters life ¨Alpha” *He walked away*

*I stood up to go after him but brother stopped me*

¨Noelle, I said he's a danger, stop.”

*I squirmed in my brother hold* “He's not dangerous! He's upset, can't any of you tell? He feels lonely and broken. I caught a glimpse of him training when we arrived and his power may be hated but he looked like he was doing it well until he got distracted. But when a hunter threw wolfsbane on him, he just threw it off and kept fighting, saving my life from that dog.”

*He lets go but pulls her back before she goes* “He may have saved you but how do you know his feelings, when you just met him.¨

*I pulled away from him as tears started to form in my eyes* “He's my mate and you were talking to his wolf just a few seconds ago.”

*He stood speechless, with his mouth gaped*
*Beta Rhys comes forwarded to her* ¨My, my what a disappointment of a brother, and he is truly your mate, little girl?”

*I nodded* “Yes and I´m not a little girl, I´m 18. So can I go and find him now brother?¨

*He sighed* ¨Fine but be careful he's unpredictable and dangerous.¨

*I hugged my brother and went off to go and find Riven*

~Rivens POV~
*I sigh and walk to the cliff sitting down on the edge* ¨I save the pack and get yelled at. I do nothing, I get yelled at. What do they want me to do?¨ *Rin resurfaced* “Mate we need her.” *I sighed, getting annoyed* “We don't need her, we´ll just mess everything up, she is too innocent and naive for this world.” *Rin growls in my head* “THEN WE PROTECT HER FROM IT.” *I growl back, putting him in his place* “We can't even protect ourselves, how can we protect her?¨ *Rin whined* ¨I´m sorry Riv, I just wanna hold our mate so badly, she looked so scared when that dog had her.”

*I sighed* “I know and even if I wanted to, her brother would not let me near her. You heard him I'm basically a monster that she should stay away from.¨ *I can hear leaves crunch knowing who it is, without looking back*

*I huff being cold* “Shouldn't you be with you brother?...”

Noelle- *She smiles as she sat next to him* “He let me come find you.¨

*I scoff* ¨Why? He called me a monster, you heard him.¨

*She sighed* “If you don't mind me asking, why do people call you a monster?”

*I sighed, remembering that day* “When I was 16 and got my powers, my mom and dad took me here, to help me get control of them. But something went wrong...” *I looked down as I felt my body getting colder and colder, digging my fingers into the ground* “I ended up killing them, they were hit with my water and fell off of this cliff.” *I feel my body tense up, the waves below start to crash vigorously against the cliff, but I lose a bit of tension when I feel arms wrap around me but I stiffen back up from the spark*

*She whispers* “I'm sorry that happened to you.”

*I shrugged* “I have little to no control and that's why my brothers disown me and my pack fears me.”

*She tightens her arms around me* “I don't fear you.”

*I looked down at her* ¨You should, it's not safe to be around me.”

*She sighed and rested her head on my shoulder* ¨Well I'm not you dummy.¨
