To: The best friends I could ever ask forDonnie, Horseshoe and Sandman,
I've left this letter in Show Pony's possession just in case I don't make it. Believe it or not, this has been the backup plan ever since our first run together. I wrote the basics, and left it with them. Every once in a while, I rewrite it, update it. Not a suicide note, but rather a just-in-case. Just in case I don't make it, just in case one of you is still there when I am gone. I can't predict the future, but I can reminisce on the past. I can still feel the wind lingering, like all the times that we were riding around the zones, listening to Dr. D. I can still hear your laughter in my ears. These moments don't last forever. The darkness of death is always on the edge of my vision; a side effect of being a killjoy. It's one of those unexplainable quirks of the desert. If I get dusted, I want you all to know I loved you. I loved all of you. You were there when we escaped the city together, you were there with me in the Underground. You were there with me in the zones. If I'm gone, I want you all to recover. Life is temporary, happiness is temporary. But I will see you again when the Phoenix Witch saves your souls. I'll be there right next to her, waiting to see my best friends again. And don't you dare try to see me sooner. Stay alive, keep running. Do it for me. Remember me. Let's hear it for America's Suitehearts.
