did you really go on a picnic with humanity's strongest soldier? yes. it did take a while for you to convince him, but after many requests, he eventually agreed.
"ok so we're here now. having a... picnic. outside. what are we supposed to do apart from eating?" levi asks you. "well nothing in particular. we just have to enjoy ourselves."

he looks at you strangely and takes a small bite of bread while you drink some water.
"you know, i have a question for you levi." you say suddenly. levi looks up at you and nods at you to continue. "do you ever get stressed for a mission outside the walls?"

he hesitates while staring at the rest of the bread he was eating. "of course." he admits.
"but why such a question?" he asks. "you always seem so emotionless when getting ready for a mission. i had a feeling you were used to it."

"used to what?"
"losing people."

levi widens his eyes. he quickly looks back somewhere else as he notices you staring back. "tell me. how did you feel when you lost erwin?" you ask, with an unusual tone.
"i did not come here to respond to your questions. even more if they talk about erwin. i do not wish to be reminded of his death." he replies, a bit aggressively.

he tries standing up but you hold his wrist, signaling him not to go. "levi. you look troubled. i swear you can trust me with anything." you promised. he looks at the grass under him and turns back at you. "fine. just keep in mind that the only person i vented to was hange, and now you..."

he sighs, sitting down comfortably again. he starts venting about his loss and how it affected him. you were glad to see this side of him. you've always wanted to help him emotionally, looking at all of the people he lost.

he finished ranting and starts getting flustered. "this felt good. for some reason." (that's what she said) "i feel relieved now, getting this off my chest."

"didn't talking about it with hange make you feel less stressed?" you questioned. "of course but not as much as you. i don't know why." he responds, clueless.
"levi. i think you might like this." you get closer to him, feeling his warm breath.

you wrap your arms around him, pushing him towards you. you were now hugging. surprisingly, levi didn't push you back. he instead, placed his arms around you too. he was still trying to figure out how the heck he ended up like this but he didn't complain.

a few weeks ago, you had peeked his interest, and he has too. he would sometimes watch over your training, admiring your determination. when you wanted something, you would always get it. levi's vent was an example.

you pull back, smiling at him. he was confused but still managed to smile just a bit. it was rare seeing levi's smile, but you were glad to see it.
"thank you (y/n). now i think this will be the end of our picnic. i shall see you again at the next training." he gets up, walking back to his office.

the next day, levi looked happier then usual. sasha sits next to you for breakfast, shook at levi's smile. "how!? why!?" she said more then surprised. she wasn't the only one. half of the scout members were pretty much shocked.

he starts coming towards you and your friend group. eren was the first one to notice: "wow wow wow, he's coming towards us! wait no he's coming towards you (y/n)!"
"come outside at the picnic place when you finish having breakfast. i'd like to discuss some things with you." levi orders.

as he walked away, he left everybody speechless.
"well you guys know what that means, see you later!" you declared as you quickly ran to the picnic area. he was there, sitting on the grass, gesturing you to sit down as well.
"what did you want to talk about?" you asked him, genuinely clueless.

"you know how i spoke to you about the people i lost yesterday? well it did feel quite good to finally be able to talk about it to somebody other then hange after having it bottled up inside of me for a few years now..." he timidly manages to say. he looks at you with bright eyes and admits: "thank you (y/n). to sincerely prove you my appreciation, i will now give you the chance to vent to me too."

you couldn't believe what he was saying. was this really levi? after all you couldn't blame him. he lost almost everybody he loves but he never got a chance to talk to it with anybody. it must have made him feel so good to finally be able to let it out. that is why you now have all of his respect.

"thank you levi for this gift. i trust you, so i might talk to you about things that trouble me as well." he smiled at your reply, and took your hand in his as you started venting to him too.
