They, they finally did it. It took them an embarrassing amount of time to realize that they needed a totem of undying instead of a spider eye (why they added that body part, they'll never tell you) but they did. What did they do, you might be asking yourself, who are they, and what did they need a spider eye for?
That, my dears, is a very long and drawn-out tale that many can not know, being kept a secret by the gods of the land. The simplified, and the only version that people know of, I can tell you.
There was a man, a man with grand ambitions who wanted it all, no matter the cost. Another man, whose ambitions were as grand as the last ones, wanted to be even more than the other. The second man eventually broke off from the first man's land, claiming emancipation from it. The first man did not like that at all, to the point where he didn't even allow any persons who came from the emancipated land to even see his land.
They fought in a war caused by a child, something that shouldn't even happen if you ask me. They forced children to fight their pitiful battles, forcing them to grow up fast.
After some major, but not clearance events, the second man had died. In the middle of a party that was made to celebrate the shackling of his land by a tyrant. He died at the hands of his father, his last words being "It was not meant to be".
The father was left alive, as was the man's two other brothers. Well, at first. The third and youngest brother was taken by the man after the other had died, that greedy man seeing some use out of the child. He had killed him, killed a child, and felt no remorse from it. That man beat a child to death and felt no qualms against it. He actually felt good about it.
He, that ma- no monster could revive the child. Wanted to revive the child, as to "teach him a lesson". I don't know about you man, but most of my lessons don't involve me dying and coming back to life. Anyways, that monster just wanted the boy to "Sit there and think of what you've done".
The second man met the child once again in the afterlife. Turns out, he remembers everything that his soul twin has done, has seen. He's seen what that monster has done in his absence, and is pissed. No one and he means no one, is allowed to hurt that child, not even his own damn family.
He was more so pissed off by their supposed shared "family". Isn't family supposed to stick together, not leave each other alone in the time of peril? Those two men thought they had the right of calling that angel on Earth their son, their family.
The man was biding his time, he knew they'd try to revive him soon. He wanted them to revive him. Especially since now, he knew that the monster was in the process of reviving the child, and wanted to go and grab the child from the spot that he's in.
It was a rather weird day that they revived him, being on a 16th. The 16th day of any month was for some reason rather cursed, seeing on how bad things have been happening ever since that fateful October night. However, they were extremely magical, and if the gods blessed you, lucky. Of course, having the lord of death, student of the god of death, oversee the revival is bound to be seen in a good light for the gods.
He felt the fusing of him to the other him that roamed the living world, and panicked. He didn't want to leave the child, not when they just opened up to him. So he grabbed on tight, promising to never let him go, not now nor ever. Turns out, if someone being summoned to the real world by people who also have a bond to the person that they are holding, you'll summon both for the price of one.
