" Hey, we got a few walkers outside. I'll take care of them if you want." CeCe ran to go get her machete which she has been dying to use every chance she got, " Are they bothering you?" I asked while blocking her escape route. " YES! Theyre freakin walkers, and their stench ain't too good either". "Really? Because I dont see them breaking through the windows or trying to bite you. And I dont think that stench is coming from them...". CeCe's jaw dropped, " Rude much." I was confused for a second until I realized she thought I was talking about her. " No child, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about the little surprises these damn animals keep leaving us in here." She glared at me while fiddling with the tip of the blade from her machete, " Sleep with one eye open...you know...just in case." I smiled while walking back to the kitchen, " I always do."
CeCe and I have decided to leave in two days time. We spent a few days scrounging up whatever we can find, weapons, food, clothes, etc. We hit the jackpot in of the upstairs bedrooms. There was this mini fridge with some soda cans and alot of junkfood. It seemed like someone was storing before their time was up. Lucky for us, the people that used to live in this house were some what horders. We found a stack of clean clothes, a ton of bathing products in the upstairs bathroom , enough canned food to last us the next few weeks in one of the hidden cabinets in the kitchen and we were able to make a few homemade weapons out of some objects in the house. We broke a few chairs, sharpened the ends to make them super sharp and used some rope or twine to tie them onto some broom handles. The handles were a bit too long to carry aound so CeCe gladly used her machete to shorten the pieces. We found some super glue in the the drawer, broke a few mirrors in the house and glued some of the glass shards onto long leather patches that we could use to wrap around our hands or knuckles . Sadly we had to test our products on some unsuspecting victims... so we grabbed the nearest walker that was happily enjoying a meal of rabbit guts and our weapons worked really well. Unfortunately there was no survivors in our experiment.
A few days ago we heard about this prison that a couple was headed to. They were out hunting and we happened to pick up on their conversation. They seemed like they knew what they were doing, managed to catch 6 rabbits, 3 squirrels and 1 bird. Me and CeCe talked about it for a few days, wondering if it was even going to be safe. There is nothing left for us here, but over there we have a chance at a better life... hoepfully a place where the sun shines and things are alot more normal. We were young but at least its alot easier for us, we are growing up in this world, not adapting to it.
We had made a decision...we are heading to Sharpsburg in two days time.
