The rest of the Holidays Jane made it a purpose to not go back to the mirror. Jane knew something was odd about it. Since seeing her parents in the mirror she had been having weird dreams. Ones were they felt so real. Then when nothing but green light came into view she would bolt right up. Some of these nights Marley was shaking her awake. Marley didn't know what to do with a screaming Jane.
Luckily Lukas and Hermione came back right before the term started. Hermonie and Lukas didn't like the idea That all four of their friends had been out of bed, roaming the school a few nights in a row. The disappointment on Hermonies face when she found out none of us had actually looked into Nicolas Flamel. All six of them had almost given up hope of ever finding Flamel in a library book, even though Harry was positive he'd seen the name somewhere before. All of them had began skimming trough books for ten minuets during their breaks. Jane and Harry though had even less time since Quidditch practice had started again.
Wood worked the team harder than ever. Even the endless rain that had replaced the snow couldn't dampen his spirits. The Weasleys complained that Wood was becoming a Fanatic. Jane had to agree with the twins on this. But she knew if they beat Hufflepuff, they would overtake Slytherin in the House Championship for the first time in seven years. Quite apart from wanting to win Jane found that she was having less nightmares when she was tired from training.
Then, during one particularly wet and muddy practice session, Wood gave the team a bit of bad news. He'd just gotten very angry with the Weasleys, who kept dive-bombing each other and pretending to fall off their brooms.
" Will you stop messing around!" Wood yelled. " That's exactly the sort of thing that'll lose us the match! Snape's refereeing this time, and he'll be looking for any excuse to knock points off Gryffindor!"
George had fallen off his broom for real this time. As Jane held out her hand to help him up.
" Snape's refereeing?" George spluttered coughing out mud.
" When's he ever refereed a Quidditch match? He's not going to be fair if we might overtake Slytherin.
The rest of the team landed next to Jane and George all complaining about it.
" It's not my fault," Said Wood. " We've just got to make sure we play a clean game, so Snape hasn't got an excuse to pick on us."
Jane knew what everyone thought of Snape. He was going to make sure this game was going to be hell for the Gryffindors.
As practice came to an end Jane ran to the Library to meet up with Marley and Lukas. When she arrived she saw Marley balancing a few books on her head, and Lukas reading some sort of muggle book.
Jane sat down at the round table as Lukas looked up from his book.
" How was practice Jane? You look like you've had a ghost go through you!" Marley eyed Jane as Lukas spoke.
" Yeah, no, Snape's refereeing the Quidditch match, and I don't know how to feel about it guys. " Jane hits her head off the table as Marley flinches her books falling with a lough thud.
" Well this is a bit of a pickle Snape's going to favor Hufflepuff, because he Hates Gryffindor. This won't be a fair match." Lukas grabs his quill and a piece of scratch paper.
" Ill write to my mother and see if she knows anything about Snape and Quidditch. " Lukas began writing quickly as Marley patted Jane's back.
" Lukas I'm gonna take Jane back to the common room, send an owl as soon as you hear back from your mother" Lukas nodded as Marley took Jane back to the common room.
As Marley and Jane returned to the common room they saw poor Neville with his legs stuck together with the leg-locker curse. The poor kid must have bunny hopped all the way to the common room. Everyone was laughing at Neville except for Hermonie and Jane. Even Marley was snorting at Nevilles misfortune.
