(Y/N)'S POV

It's odd, really. I didn't remember falling asleep in a dress.
Actually I didn't remember falling asleep at all. I didn't remember... anything.
The forest floor was cold and dry, and the chilly weather caused my senses to spike. Sitting up, my hand slid from the ground to my head to feel over my splitting headache. To my surprise, I felt a prickle on my fingers, and upon further investigation with my hands I felt flowers. Taking a quick glance at my feet I noticed tan flats, and when putting my hands back down to my side I felt a hard, yet smooth frame. My eyes shot over to see..
"A bow??" I questioned out loud. The weapon was beautiful, contrasting with its purpose. A matching sheath filled with feathered arrows rested next to it. My fingers curled around the bow's handle. It felt natural to hold.
"Who.. who am I?"
Before I could discover anything new, my body cast a shadow onto the ground, and I turned once again to see the source of light that caused it.
The moon.
It was huge, and the dark gray clouds that covered it mere seconds ago were billowing across the night sky to reveal its bright, beautiful surface. I almost had to squint to get a good look at it.
Although it was silent in the area surrounding me, I thought I heard a whisper in my head that calmed all of my senses.
(Y/N). You have died. Due to your selfless and youthful personality, I have granted you the title of the Guardian of Rebirth. You are granted this power of rebirth to bring spring and warmth to the world around you.

"Guardian of Rebirth.." I repeated aloud. "What is a guardian?"
No answer.
"Huh... tricky, are we?" I chuckled a little.
All of a sudden, I felt my body lift off of the ground. Gravity was going against me, and I panicked. I swooped my hands over to grasp onto the sheath's handle as my entire body floated into the air.
Am I... flying?
I slid the sheath over my shoulders and took a deep breath as my body casually floated a few feet in front of me. It was like second nature.
I guffawed, and flew up in the air. I felt limitless, weightless.
I don't know who I was before, but I loved who I was now. I was free.
I felt a giggle escape my lips. As bubbly and girly as it sounded, I didn't mind.
Spinning in the air, the wind lifted my dress so it twirled in an elegant manner. The moon cast a spotlight on me in the air, and I felt like the only girl in the world.
I hoped this moment never ended. But, of course, all good things have to.
"LOOK OUT!"
I was interrupted from my thoughts by a yell, and looking to my left I spotted something speeding my way. A trail of frosty blue followed the figure, and before I could even process who or what it was it hit me.
Literally.
Two screams filled the air, and assuming one was mine, the other came from the body that hit me. I concluded that it was, in fact, another person. But how were they also flying?
My back hit rough tree bark, then a stick, all before the sheath on my back caught onto a tree branch and stopped my body from moving.
I finally caught the breath that had been knocked out of me and brushed pine needles from my dress before looking around for the culprit of this incident.
All of a sudden, I was met with a pair of icy blues.
And they were upside-down.
"Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" The smirking boy that hung inches from my face chuckled, and my eyes shot open. Out of instinct I yelped and struck the boy across the cheek.
"Ah! Hey!" His childish demeanor was replaced with a slightly offended one. I recomposed myself and slid my self off the branch I was caught on. The boy had bent his legs across a branch and hung himself upside-down right next to where I had been caught.
So much for a good first impression, (y/n), I thought to myself. The boy swung his legs around in a full circle to float right-side up.
"Wait, you can float too?" I questioned, cocking my head to the side.
"I sure can," he brushed imaginary dust from his sleeves, still slightly annoyed at my instinct reaction.
"Hey, don't get pissed with me, you're the one that spooked me," I crossed my arms.
"It's in my nature, snowflake. Don't you have special quirks like that as a supernatural being?" He retorted.
My frown fell, and I could feel my heart sink.
"I don't.. I don't know who I am..."
His expression softened into a more concerned frown than an angry one. I looked down at my feet, the branches of the pine trees folding over each other under where I was hovering. I could feel the boy's eyes look me up and down, taking in my appearance. I forced myself to look up at him, and I noticed a sense of understanding in his eyes.
"Oh.. I'm sorry.." he apologized awkwardly. Before I could respond, though, something green caught my eye. I floated up to the end of the tree line, and what I saw was absolutely breathtaking.
"The Northern Lights," I heard the boy's voice behind me. "That's my cue. I should head out."
"Wait-" The boy stopped in midair as I called out to him. He turned.
"Who are you?"
He gave me a small smile, as if to apologize for his behavior earlier.
"Jack," he answered plainly. Then before I could ask any more questions, he flew off into the night sky.
I was still so confused. The Guardian of Rebirth. I replayed the title in my head as I floated over to the ground. I sat down on the ground to watch the beautiful colors in the sky flourish. It was the only thing I could do right now. My heartbeat slowed, and I felt myself calm down.
As my body relaxed, I felt something prickle under my fingers in the ground.
I looked down to see that I had provoked soft, pale green grass to sprout out from the ground.

JACK'S POV

The girl I had encountered was cute. I won't lie to you.
But the way she had slapped me wasn't exactly welcoming. Nobody had ever greeted me like that, and it kind of hurt.
Physically and emotionally.
I couldn't think about that now, though. There was something important happening at the North Pole, and I needed to be there.
As I entered through the skylight of the workshop, the other guardians' heads turned to see and greet me.
"Jack Frost!" North's powerful voice boomed, his arms raising in a welcoming manner. I greeted back.
"So, what's happening?"
"We have a bit of a situation," Tooth chimed in. "There's a certain child who is experiencing more mature mental damage symptoms than most kids."
"Huh," I frowned. "I hate to say it really, but what does that have to do with us? I know we're supposed to help kids, but this isn't the first kid in the world who has this problem."
Bunny shrugged. "Ask North, he brought us here."
"I normally would agree with you, Jack," North shrugged. "It's horrible seeing kids suffer like this without being able to do anything about it. But Man in Moon called us here for it. Apparently us Guardians are the only ones who can help."
"Really?" I cocked an eyebrow. Odd.
"Yes. One in particular."
"Is it me?" I asked. I had only assumed it was due to the Guardian of Fun being my official title. But my thought was immediately shot down by the eruption of laughter in the room.
"You?!" Bunny waltzed over confidently. "No offense, Frosty, but fun doesn't always mean mentally healthy."
"Then who is it? One of you?" I asked with a frown, feeling embarrassed from the uproar of laughter against my case.
I looked over to Sandy, who had formed an arrow pointing towards the floor where the moon beamed from the skylight. I walked over to the reflection that the Man in the Moon had made onto the tile, and my heart stopped when I saw who it was.
"No fucking way."
"Language, Jack," Tooth buzzed over next to me, taking a glance at the same hologram I had been gawking at. "Do you know her?"
"I do, I just met her about an hour ago." I looked up at the Man in the Moon, silently cursing.
"You don't seem too happy about it," North walked to my other side, chuckling.
"I'm not," I responded, furrowing my brow. "We didn't exactly get off on the right foot."
"What happened?"
I was silent. I couldn't let them know what happened, it was petty and insignificant. After all, I would expect any woman to do what she did if they were in that situation.
"She didn't fall madly in love with you at first sight?"
I turned to shoot a glare at Bunny, who was smirking. He was probably having the time of his life making fun at me.
"Well, either way, we have to get her," North continued, and everyone looked at me. I backed up a little.
"What are you looking at me for?" I frowned, even though I already knew the answer.
"You're the last one who saw her, mate. It's only fair if you go and get her."
I groaned. "Do I have to?"
My question was answered with a sack to the face.
