Chapter Two.

- Shira's P.O.V. -

"It's been three hours Diego, we still haven't seen her," I said, pacing back & fourth. Suddenly I heard Diego's & I names being yelled by Sid, "Cam down Sid, what's the matter?" Diego asked, "I seen Sapphire following Peaches' friends in the forrest," Sid said, "Oh no," I said, "We better go find her, but thank you Sid," I said, running with Diego towards the forrest. I seen Peaches' friends & Sapphire beside Ethan, "Hey, Ethan," Steffie said, noticing them. Sapphire ran up to us & hid behind Diego's leg,   "Thanks for keeping her safe," I said, Diego picked her up & we walked back to the group. We set her down & she pounced on Eddie, scaring him quite a bit, "Sapphire," I said, looking at her sapphire eyes, she is the spitting image of her father, getting his fur but my attitude & eyes. "What did we tell you about wandering off?" I said, "And don't scare Crash & Eddie," Diego said, "Now, now you guys are being too hard on her, she's just a cub. Of course she's going to wander off by herself," Ellie said, looking at us. "She's going to need to learn how to hunt & swim soon," I said, nudging Diego causing him to grin. "Ahhh," Sid said, Sid got his tail caught on fire & Sapphire was laughing at him along with Crash, Louis, Eddie & Peaches, Manny was laughing until Ellie glared at him. "Sapphire," Peaches said, attracting the young cubs attention. Suddenly Crash & Eddie appeared infront of us, scaring Sapphire. "I thought you were by Peaches a minute ago?" She asked, "We were but we move fast," they said, I looked at Diego who just shrugged. "Daddy," Sapphire said, she backing up running in to him. I followed her gaze to see a weasel, "Buck?" Diego said, "Buck!" Crash & Eddie yelled, Diego walked up to him & she ran under me. Hiding behind my front paw, I chuckled & looked at the weasel. "How did you get up here?" Sid asked, "I have my ways," he said, he walked up to us & I growled at him, "Shira, it's fine," Diego said, he looked at Sapphire & she growled at him, "Who's this young cub?" Buck asked, "Sapphire, she's my cub along with her's," Diego said reffering to me, walking up to him. "So this your mate? She's a beauty," He said, I growled even louder when he tried touching Sapphire, "Buck, I wouldn't touch her if I were you, Shira will attack you," Manny said, "Calm down tiger, I just want to see this cub," he said, "Step away from us," I growled, Diego ran up to me & picked up Sapphire, she started squirming & whimpering. "Diego," I growled, Buck was about to pat her head but I knocked him down, "Calm yourself mama tiger, I'm not going to hurt your cub," he said, patting her head, Sapphire bit at his hand & Diego put her down, she ran off & I got off of him, running after Sapphire.

- Diego's P.O.V. -

"That was very smart of you," Manny said, "I didn't know Shira & Sapphire would act like that," I said, "She's a mother, of course she would be over protective, she think that Buck would try to hurt Sapphire, try to remember that Sapphire's your only cub," Manny said, Shira came back with Sapphire, she walked past me acting like I didn't exist, "Shira," I said, walking up to her, she looked at me & picked up Sapphire, walking towards Ellie, putting Sapphire down, I walked up to them & I nuzzled Sapphire, I sat down beside Shira watching Sapphire claw Crash & Eddie's tails, Shira quietly chuckled when Sapphire finall caught Crash's tail, Crash let out a yelp & turned around looking at Sapphire who was pretending to be asleep. Once he turned around she clawed Eddie's tail causing him to yelp & jump up, almost falling in the fire. Manny laughed along with Peaches & the others. Sapphire snickered & ran away from the two possums who were going to get their revenge on the tiny female sabre cub. About five seconds later Crash & Eddie were running away from her, Sapphire's fur was covered with fruit & thorns with a hint of honey, "What happened to her fur?" Shira exclaimed, I got up & ran after Sapphire, I picked her up by the scruff of her neck & brought her back to Shira, I nodded my head for her to follow. She wished everyone goodnight including Sapphire, "Daddy, let me go," she whined, squirming. "You need to be cleaned," Shira said, "No, no, no," Sapphire said, I growled in response causing her to growl back at me, we got to our cave & I set her down, she sat down & Shira walked up to her, "I'll go find us something to eat," I said, walking out of the cave. After walking around for nearly five minutes I found a gazelle, I crept up on it then pounced on it, digging my claws i to it, I bit its neck & it fell down. I dragged it back to the cave getting a scared look from Louis along the way. I brought it inside the cave & Sapphire whimpered. "Okay, now you can go eat," Shira said, leting Sapphire run to the gazelle. "I took me 15 minutes to clean her fur, those thorns would not come out," Shira said, laying down keeping an eye on our young cub who was eating away. "Well at least she's clean now, kitty." I said, nuzzling her.
