Chapter Three.

- Shira's P.O.V. -

I was talking with Manny & Ellie while Diego was playing with Sapphire, "How did you guys get the name Sapphire?" Ellie asked, "My eyes, she had the same eyes as me. Diego wanted to call her Sapphire so I agreed," I said, looking at Sapphire who was laughing when she tackled her father. Sid & his grandmother walked up to us, "Where's the little mini Diego?" Sid asked, "Over there, playing with Diego," I said, "Awe, he's playing with her. How sweet," He said, I heard Diego laugh & I turned my head to see him chasing Sapphire. "He's such a great dad," Ellie said, I looked at her then smiled. "Yup," I said, Diego knocked Sapphire down & she let out a giggle. "You sure did change him," Manny said, I laughed & watched as Sid & his grandmother walk away, "What is she like when she's not around us?" Manny asked, "Sapphire? She acts a lot like me, she sometimes doesn't listen. She'll get  smart with us once in a while. But other than that she's behaves well," I said, Sapphire & Diego walked up to us. They were both panting really hard & Sapphire collasped on the ground, causing Diego to laugh & nuzzle her. I nuzzled him & he returned the gesture. "Looks like you tired her & yourself out," I said. Diego & Sapphire laughed quietly. Sid came back with Louis and Peaches, "Sapphire!" She exclaimed, running up to her. "Why is she out of breath?" She asked, "She just finished playing with her dad, so she's exhausted." I said, looking at the cub who was looking at the fruit in Sid's arms. "Oh, well we brought some fruit for everyone," Peaches said, she gave an apple to Sapphire & smiled at her. "Mommy," Sapphire said, "Hmm?" I replied, "I'm suddenly very tired," she said, as she yawned. Diego picked her up, bringing her back to our cave. "It's nice of you guys to let us have our own cave, Sapphire would probably torement Manny or Crash & Eddie," I said,"Well, I can't do anything to her other wise you or Diego would kill me," Manny says, Ellie laughed along with me. "I remember when Sid first met Sapphire," I said, "Yeah, he nearly tried to hug her, but you & Diego growled at him." Manny said, "Hey, I wasn't going to crush her," Sid says, "Sid, the cub was a newborn. You could've hurt it or possibly scare her," Manny said.

- Shira's P.O.V. -

After Diego & I ran in to Buck we walked to the beach, I listened to Diego talk about his past & Sapphire, "If Gutt was alive or if any of the crew was they would think I'm weak if they saw Sapphire & I," I said, "I'm not saying that I regret having Sapphire it's just that they didn't believe in love, they were all selfish & blood thirsty, Gutt was mean, controlling & just plain horrible." I said, "Continue," Diego said, "If he saw Sapphire he would probably kill her or do something horrible to her," I said. "And if he was alive I wouldn't let him hurt you, Sapphire or the herd," he said, "Sapphire means the world to me, I'm just scared that someone might come & hurt her or take her away from us," I said, "She's probably wandering where we are," He said, "As long as were alive we can protect her from anything or anyone that's dangerous," he said, "Sapphire is the spitting image of you, Softie," I said, he chuckled. "Mommy?" Sapphire's voice called out, "Auntie Shira?" Peaches' voice called out, "Daddy?" Sapphire's voice yelled, "Diego? Shira? Hello?" Peaches & Louis' voice yelled, "Looks like Sapphire's looking for us," I said. "Over here Sapph," Diego yelled, she jumped out infront of us glaring at us. "What's wrong Sapphire?" I asked, Diego quietly chuckled & I glared at him. "Thanks for leaving me this morning with Crash & Eddie. They nearly threw me in to the water!" She said, "You left her with Ellie's brothers?" I said, looking at Diego. "They were the first one I seen this morning, it was neither them or Sid who could have been her personal chew toy," He said,

"Precious!" An all too familiar voice yelled, "Oh no," Sapphire said. "Hey lovebirds, have you seen Precious?" Sid's Granny asked, "Precious?" Sapphire questioned, "Who's Precious?" She asked looking at us, "It's a long story Sapphire," Diego said, "Come on, let's go find the others," he said, I picked her up by& she kept asking us who was Precious & who was she. "We'll get Manny to tell you," Diego said, she growled in response. Suddenly Buck landed infront of us along with Crash & Eddie, "That was awesome!" Crash said, Buck looked at me then Sapphire, "Hello Mates, I see you got your cub with ya this time," he said. Sapphire growled & I put her down, "Shira, this is buck. He saved us from dinosaurs & animal eating plants," He said, "Animal eating what?" Sapphire asked, looking at him with wide eyes. "Curious one eh?" Buck said reffering to her. looking at her. "You got that right, Buck this is Sapphire, Shira & I's cub," he said. "Sapphire? I'm guessing you guys got her name from your mates eyes," He said, pointowards my eyes, I looked at Sapphire who was about to follow Crash & Eddie until Diego picked her up by the scruff of her neck, "Daddy, let me go," She whined, "We love to stay & chat but we are going to go find Ellie & the others, you're welcome to join us," I said, walking away from Buck. "Eh, why not?" He said, following us. We got to the group & they were sitting by the fire talking to each other. "Sapphire," Sid said, Diego put her down & she ran off. "What's up with her?" Ellie asked, "We have no clue, I guess she's just being moody," Diego said, laying down by the fire. "I'm curious of what have you guys seen & been through," I said. "Yeah, what have you been through so far?" Sapphire asked, walking towards Sid's granny. "Hey, tree sap chew this for me," Granny said, "What? Ew, No!" She said, Sid's granny scowled & muttered something under her breath, "Sidney! Chew this for me!" She said, walking up to her grandson. "Where should we start?" Diego asked, "What about the sirens?" Sid's granny asked "Sirens?" Peaches asked.
