hi besties!! this is a collab with my friend -M00N_17, make sure to check his book of unpopular opinions out !
so we discussed our unpopular opinions together, we both gave our opinions one by one, i gave and he added to it and then he gave and I added to it. all the opinions are by both of us!
the opinions may be offensive, they're our opinions and you don't have to agree with them, please disagree respectfully. The opinions in no way mean to bash any idol or anyone, we wouldn't do that :)
Feel free to share your opinions about them, keep it respectful as we don't stan rudeness 💖
Let's start!

1) "People always need some kind of backstory for a group to become famous. If not, they will be considered overrated"
As most kpop groups like mamamoo and bts have some sort of backstory. Some don't like Blackpink. The thing is people are like blackpink went from rich to more rich and bts went from poor to rich and that bts went through more shit than blackpink. They keep saying that Blackpink didn't go through alot of shit as they are from a big company and that bts went through so much. Those 14 year old girls istg-

2) visual position isn't an insulting position to other members.
It is not there to tell you who is the most attractive one because beauty is of course subjective. But I think a position is given to the member who are not
only best in that area but will bring in the most money in that area.
For example if one of the members are going to a singing show the company will send the Main Singer because that member will impress the most people and create most new fans leading to more money.
Same with the visual, who is the member who will most likely do modeling and ads because that person fits korean beauty standards the best.
Then it is the biggest chance that the person watching the ad find them appealing leading to people buying the product which lead to money for the company. The company need to give out the position because otherwise the fans would probably get mad that one member is doing so much more work then the others but because that member has the visual position people understands that she/he do more modeling and ads because their face is more appealing

3) solo stans SHOULDN'T be considered. No matter what, they're a solo stan, even if they're not toxic they shouldn't be considered. I've heard people saying 'it's okay if the solo stan isn't problematic' but like, they're stanning just one member which isn't right :]

4) Hating someone for what they did like years ago,
Kpoopies have a really weird obsession with cancelling someone who did something bad YEARS AGO. fans are obsessed with labels, that's the truth.
For example, the jisung racist situation. Y'all knew nothing and went ahead and called him 'racist'. The word racist is sensitive, y'all use it everywhere lmao. He wrote the rap when he was 13, motherfucking 13-! Now people attacked him after like 20 years, what the hell? Yes of course he MUST be held accountable for what he did, I never denied it but bashing him for what he did like 20 years ago isn't right. He's human and can make mistakes too- he was 13, a literal kid, not EVERYONE who says the n word is racist, if he said it now yeah it would've been really bad but he said it when he was 13, he could've simple been uneducated. I'm not 'defending' him, I'm being mature. People nowadays want to cancel everybody, and it's so easy to do so because those people are in the spotlight. Of course he must be held accountable but he SHOULDN'T be bashed for it. Even me, I came to know about those racial slurs when I was like 12. Why? Because things like that don't happen in my surroundings, and that's why I was uneducated. I'm not saying I shouldn't know about it or it's not my problem, IT IS IT IS. I'm saying that not everyone is educated about it. Jisung was stupid not racist. Don't bash people like that.

5) Shipping is okay until taken aboard.
shipping is liking seeing someone with someone and it's normal. it doesn't give anyone the right to call them disgusting, they're humans too, they like seeing them together and it's okay and normal. they should just never take it too far like asking the idols on their lives and shit 💀
