1. If a character is going through a loss or something that makes them grieve (emotionally) they must go through the stages of grief, and remember it's going to be different for each character this is just the basis. Also this may not be everything that the character feels, they may have more or less stages in their grieving process.
Shock and denial : This is a state of disbelief and not wanting to accept what has happened. Kind of playing it off as if it didn't happen.
Pain and guilt : This is when they start what has happened and starts to feel guilty. (It's the initial pain they will feel.)
Rage and bargaining : they are angry at what happened and why it happened. They will also try to bargain with themselves to make the pain less prominent.
Depression and seclusion : This is when everything hits them and they will start to grieve even more. They might lock themselves up or feel numb and dull. They will also start to heavily blame everything on themselves. This is one of the more difficult stages so they might have more trouble coming out of it.
Reconstruction: this is them realizing and starting to accept things. Basically they are starting to feel better and reconstruct and build their life back up.
Acceptance : they have finally accepted the loss/grievance and have moved on.

2. A character can get overwhelmed when in a stressful situation especially if they've been in this situation for a while. This consists of them panicking, getting mad, or just freezing. (Ex: All of this was just too much for _____ they had been running for hours on end with no progress on finding anything remotely similar to a civilization. It had finally gotten to them and suddenly their knees had given out making them fall to the ground eyes stinging as they started to cry. First it came out as a small choked sob, but the sobs grew louder and echoed in the trees. They had had enough of blindly wandering. Their arms and legs had been cut and scraped multiple times by the branches and bushes they had fallen into.
All they wanted was to go home and have their parents tuck them into bed softly humming a soothing melody. The choked cries slowly died down to hitched breaths as they wiped their eyes and got up.
"I need to keep going." They mumbled getting up, wincing as their sore legs carried them deeper into the forest.)This shows the character in a situation where they have been through too much stress and have started to break down, but they eventually get back up and onto track.

3. If there is a situation where the character is confused you may want to have them try and figure out what is going on. Most times they aren't calm in new situations and get protective and defensive. Have them grab something near them to use as a weapon if they feel unsafe.

This chapter is longer then the last hopefully this has helped you so far. Feel free to give feedback.
