But of course the reasons I gave to these characters aren't the in-world reasons they got those names.
Aquilo- Named after the seller of liquid nitrogen he swallowed as a kid.
Flaminio- named after the fancy Italian gasoline he drank when he was a kid.
Kellen- It was his grandfather's name and subsequently became his name.
Matthew- His dead name was Annabeth, but Pit helped him choose a new name; to Pit, Matthew was a gift straight from heaven, and his name reflects that.
Norman- His father named him after one of his deceased best friends
Oleander- Named after the brand of poison he drank as a kid
Panchito- It was the last name of one of Wallace's old friends
Pit- Named because he was born in a ball pit. What a mad lad.
Sammy- This was the name her adopted mother gave her(This name was picked out of a hat). Her real name Symphony comes from her mother, her real mother, foreseeing that she would be a talented musician.
Sept- They picked out the name themselves, basing it on the sounds of their dead name Serilda and their favorite number, which is seven.
Vincent- Named because his mother thought it was "fitting" for him, which is why he hates it so much.
William- Named after the seller of the plant food
