Kenneth Shallows was a guy who lived within a tribe when his parents abandoned him when he was younger. He didn't care though, in his mind they didn't matter. Kenneth would always sit among other kids with the elders of the tribe learning the ways of voodoo and other magics. They always said not to listen to the darker sides of magic, but Kenneth always had darker voices in his head. He didn't know why but he didn't care either. He walked towards the forest to see if he could use some of the symbols that the elders have taught him to see what they can do exactly. He had one of the books off the shelf before he left, when he had got to the area to practice he opened the book seeing this is not the book he should have grabbed. It's the book of the darker side of voodoo, he should have closed it and ran back but he didn't. Instead, he read through it, the voices in his head cheering him on, telling him to learn them and use them. He wasn't paying attention until he heard a sound that sounded like someone scratching at the damp ground; he followed the sound seeing a girl named Lizzie York that lived within the tribe. "What are you doing here?" Kenneth asked curiously but cautiously. "I'm doing the same as you, practicing." Lizzie said while looking up at Kenneth while she stood up to attempt to get him to leave her alone so she could practice in peace. Kenneth noticed her book was the same dark voodoo as his. It seemed Lizzie noticed his book as well. "I see your book" Both strangely said at the same time. Lizzie was first to ask why he had gotten that book and his reply sent shivers down her spine, "I got the book by accident, but I won't put it back. They told me to use it to grow stronger. Strong enough to kill. You will not tell a single soul about this, I have my blackmail on you too. Now tell me why you have it." Kenneth finished his ice-cold gaze filled with curiosity but also darkness. "Basically the same reasons as you. These voices in my head are telling me to learn and kill. Feed off of fear and panic. I should be scared but I'm not. I don't know why." Lizzie finished sounding as if she couldn't use emotion, "These voices, do they sound like they echo and sound male and female?" Kenneth questioned seeing if he and Lizzie are somehow in the same dark set of mind. "Yes. Do you have those voices?" Lizzie asked as she was staring at Kenneth with a gaze matching his, a gaze of pure evil. "Yes. I do. I have since I was a child. Just before I set a small camp of bandits ablaze, and just before the tribe found me." Kenneth said as he looked down at Lizzie with his cold dark emotionless brown eyes. Lizzie didn't know what to say, had he really killed a whole camp? She was supposed to be scared of him, but she wasn't. "How could you do that?" Lizzie questioned as she looked up at him with her amber eyes filled with curiosity. "Simple, You don't care. You don't care if someone cries, you don't care if they scream or plead for mercy. And most importantly, you don't feel remorse." Kenneth said as he looked up toward the sky seeing the clouds a dark grey, along with the grey he saw a symbol in the sky, "Spell of the deceitful." He said aloud not caring if Lizzie heard. "What?" She looked up and saw it and at the same time spoke, "I cast this spell not only to make the innocent think I look like them but also to use the sound of the mourning wailing bell as a symbol of my coming and the sound that feels calm like a wave but threatens to bring upon evil.." Both finished and looked at one another as a feeling of evil coursed through them. They felt different but didn't care. "We should get going, I do not want to be caught up in this storm." Lizzie said as she turned away and put her book into her bag. "Yea. Let's go. I can practice another day." Kenneth said as he started to walk back towards the village. Lizzie soon followed but didn't see a single sign of Kenneth anywhere. She started to get worried and started to fear the worst, but she kept walking until she heard the sound of two people talking. She slowly approached the area where the talking came from and hid by a nearby tree and saw a gruesome sight and covered her mouth and had wide eyes. There in view was a dead body split from the groin to the gully with insides hanging out and some bones ripped from the body and scattered on the ground around them the two men around the corpse were covered in blood and had some of the insides in their hands and looked as if they had eaten some of it. Lizzie wanted to throw up but didn't want to get caught so she stayed in hiding. The two cannibals soon grabbed the body from the ground and threw it down just to see blood splatter. At that point, Lizzie threw up and couldn't stop. The men had obviously heard her and went to the sound and picked Lizzie up from behind and she screamed and struggled to get away but her attempts were in vain as she couldn't escape. "Lookie what we have here, a little girl who saw us having our snack." The one who stood before her said. "She's too skinny. Should we just put her down there to die?" The one holding her said. Lizzie was in tears but the voices in her head were screaming at her to kill them but she couldn't. She was hoisted up and she was in tears. "LET ME GO!!!" She screamed and attempted escape but it was too late, they knocked her out. She didn't know how long she was asleep but it might have been for a while. When she woke up she was chained to a wall and the stench of death lingered throughout the room she was in. She tried to break her chains in hopes of being released from them but it didn't work. She sighed and started to cry. Then she heard one of the men that took her approaching her. "Aw, now, don't cry. It won't save you if you do." the man said. "Leave me alone and let me go." Lizzie said through tears. "Why would we do that? You're just going to tell. I'm not stupid." He said. "You sure look and sound like you are." Lizzie spat. All of a sudden she felt a hand across her face. He slapped her. Hard. "Now listen here, I am not stupid and it would be wise not to anger me. Did you not see what we did to that other guy? We tore him apart and devoured him." He said with a dangerous tone of voice. Lizzie didn't look at the man and heard him get up and leave. She was relieved a little but she was still scared out of her mind. She hoped somebody would find her. Kenneth was at the village in his little house reading through the dark book. He noticed Lizzie didn't come back and was a little worried because she was only 16 and had been missing for a few days, but he knew her enough to know that she wouldn't die so easily. But it still bothered him to know she was missing. He decided enough was enough and went to look for her. He knew some of the spells from the book but he brought it anyway along with knives and other smaller weapons. Just in case. He left without telling anyone and set off to find her, as he was walking through the woods he smelled something terrible and looked for the source and found a dead carcass of a human. Torn up and guts missing, he tilted his head not being phased by this but grew worried for Lizzie's safety. He turned back in the direction he was going and the voices in his head sort of guiding him to her whereabouts. When he saw a small hut he suspected that was where she was. He looked through the windows and saw two men feasting on what seemed to be organs and scrunched up his nose. He was disgusted by these types of people. He looked for a back entrance and his efforts were rewarded with exactly what he was looking for. He snuck in and looked around seeing a basement and heard them approaching so he hid near the wall they were walking from just beside the doorway and all of a sudden he could feel as if he wasn't himself. He took out a small hatchet and silently approached one of the men and drove his ax in the back of his head then down through the back. The other saw and he approached the other man, "Where is she?" He said in a frighteningly calm tone of voice. "Where was who?" The man asked, playing coy. But Kenneth was no idiot who fell for these sorts of things. "Lizzie Yorksin. Black hair, short, and thin." Kenneth hissed as he started to approach the man. The man ran to what he supposed was the kitchen and turned up the gas oven all the way up and dumped some old grease on it then ran out. Kenneth didn't notice this because he was too involved with the chase. The man eventually ran towards the basement where Lizzie lay, her black hair was still in a bun, she looked thinner. Kenneth turned toward the man. And with just his bare hands held the sides of his head and buried his thumbs in his eyes and putting pressure on the head hearing screams and cracking noises until the head got crushed between his hands, blood-covered him and he turned to Lizzie, she looked happy and hopeful of escape, Kenneth helped her out and walked upstairs with her. The two smelled the stench of something burning. Kenneth turned to the kitchen and his eyes went wide as he saw an inferno raging from the kitchen area. He ran with Lizzie in tow until they felt a large explosion behind them and went flying forward when they stood Lizzie looked burnt and hurt while Kenneth was burnt as well but he didn't feel human. He looked at Lizzie and helped her up and took her back to the village. When they got back Lizzie thanked him, "Thank you for the help." Lizzie smiled at him and he smirked. A twisted and dark smirk then started to laugh. "I didn't help you. I got you to trust me just so I could kill you along with the rest!" He said as he lifted her up by the neck and slightly dug his fingers in her neck and used his other hand to grab a knife and cut her from her midsection, up. Lizzie was screaming in pain while trying to break free until she felt her intestines being ripped from her body and hand. "Enjoy Hell." He grinned as he finished digging his finger through her neck. He threw her down seeing her lifeless face look hurt, betrayed, and tear-covered. He walked back to the village and poured flammable gas around and lit a match and looked at it with a small smirk. "I lied." His final words before he dropped the match, burning the village down and hearing screams and cries of agony, he looked back at Lizzie and tore one of her bones out, and put it on a small keychain. He grinned and looked back at the village and saw the village leader looking at Kenneth in front of the flames. Kenneth knew the old man wouldn't live much longer so he decided to pick him up by the neck and punched his hand through his midsection and grabbed a hold of his spine and ripped it out and threw the body into the flames and put the spine around his neck as a necklace and prize for his victory. He turned away and walked into the dark fog as the voices led him. He wasn't Kenneth anymore, he was, "Deceit".
