"Are you hungry?" Levi continued as he followed the Hound out and into the kitchen. Of course, as he opened his fridge he realized that he hadn't gone shopping in weeks and had been ordering out due to the massive amount of work he'd been doing. He sighed and looked at the date on the milk jug that sat on the glass shelf...6 weeks past, he didn't even bother to smell it and just tossed it into the trash can.
The Hound said nothing as he looked around, finally he found the front window and looked out. His emerald green eyes shimmered in the daylight as he gazed out at the property.
"So uh...what kind of food do you like?" Levi asked, he approached the boy and stood a few feet behind him. "Whatever we order I can have it flown in by staff, so it won't take too long."
Again nothing.
"Look kid I'm doing my best here. I could use a little help, if we are gonna coexist." He said in mild frustration as he stepped closer and landed a heavy hand on the boys shoulder. Instantly the kid swung around and attempted to punch Levi square in the face. Fortunately, the man was highly trained and managed to divert the blow. Instead of taking the hit, Levi twisted the Hounds arm, forcing the boy to turn far enough to be locked into a choke hold.
"Okay, so you don't wanna be touched. I can live with that, but I won't put up with anyone attacking me. You throw hands and I will too." Levi scolded as he held the boy in place which was surprisingly very difficult. The kid knew every possible way to escape but Levi managed to counter each one. The Hound growled and struggled, putting everything into getting away. Finally the sheer force caused Levi to let go, thankfully his opponent took off out the front door instead of continuing the spat.
"Tch..." Levi cursed as he pulled out his phone. "Yeah, connect me to Dr. Loren."
He watched as the boy darted off, barefoot, into the wooded area of the property.
....
"Look I'm telling you, it's not gonna work out. The kid doesn't respond when I talk to him, he won't even look at me. It's like I'm not even here. He damn near took me down earlier and all I did was ask for a little respect."
The woman on the line grumbled in aggravation.
"Look for a social worker type you're kinda dumb. I told you, he's been treated like an animal, like a machine—his entire life. He doesn't know what he wants to eat because he was never given the privilege of "wanting" anything. He was given food and told to eat it. He doesnt respect you because you've not claimed your space and you haven't let him know that you're the boss."
Levi looked out at nothing in annoyance.
"I'm not gonna play pack leader here okay, I'm just a guy who wants his paycheck. It's your fault I got roped into this mess anyway."
"Ug. You're impossible. Give him time Levi. He needs a strong alpha, structure, and affection. In that order. Give it a couple of weeks and then call me back. If it's absolute hell then I'll try to get something else arranged."

The man brought the phone down from his ear and sighed, slipping the device back into his pocket.
"Alright...fine. Day 1, restart."
...
Five hours had gone by and Levi hadn't seen hide nor hair of the wild boy he'd been put in charge of. He just hoped that the security fence was enough to keep him in, he fought down the thoughts comparing his property to a Jurassic Park scene with a security breach. So far Levi had ordered groceries which had been delivered via helicopter, put away the shipment of clothes he'd been issued for "3170", and organized the kids bathroom with his own array of soaps and other products to use. He assumed the boy would be back soon, he had to eat sometime after all. The man had ordered them a dinner size meal from a local burger joint, it was still hot in its insulated bag on the counter. It smelled hella good too, but he wanted to wait.
