"I can't believe you didn't think to take the call outside!" Vince bellowed ferociously. "You know that he has heightened...well...everything! You're such an idiot!" The younger of the two argued as he huffed. "You just...you just bolt out the door after him...but forget me right?! Just leave me behind and don't tell me anything!"
Levi growled out a frozen breath, he didn't have time to bicker with this guy. "Kid it's not my fault! I was trying to catch him before he disappeared!"
"What about that damn collar you used to have on him? The shock collar?"
"Oh, so once something goes wrong you're fine with treating him like an animal? That collar has been off for a while now. He wears a normal one now with no tracking device or electronics..."
Vince tried to steady his breathing. It was damn cold out, and he had run his ass off to catch up to his friends. Unlike Ares, he had rushed to his room and thrown on some clothes, and haphazardly laced his shoes before making a mad dash into the city with no idea where he was going.
The two stood together, both trying to figure out what to do next. Levi had called Michael, and the guy was not happy in the slightest.
"I'm sorry, but you weren't the priority at that very moment..." Levi explained a little more calmly. "I talked to a friend, he's reached out to some people and we have at least a dozen search probes out looking for him now."
Vince rolled his eyes and dropped his head back in exasperation. "The problem is, he went the wrong way. He doesn't know where the Airport is, and so I have no idea where he's gone. We need to wait and see what the probes find out."
"You expect to find one kid in this gigantic city...with what...a bunch of drones?"
"Hounds give off a certain chemical signature that the drones are designed to pick up. They are-" The man paused and cursed. "Tch, this shit is classified dammit, quit asking questions!"
"Ug...again with the classified...I literally live with you, you might as well just tell me all your secrets..."
Levi gave him a peculiar look that seemed to say 'as if'. "Not all of them anyway..."
"So what now? I don't know about you but I'm not going to just sit at home and wait for your bots to find him. I'm gonna go look..." Vince said before he heard a sudden click and a coldness around his left wrist.
"Not a chance." Levi said sternly.
Vince glanced down at the cuffs that were attached to his wrist, Levi held the other end in his hand, pausing for a time to soak in the image.
"You think this is funny? So let me get this straight just to be sure I'm not messing this up..."He snapped hastily, bringing his free hand to his hair and combing it out of his face with his fingers. "So I illegally leave a country with you...a country that you're not supposed to leave...while secretly smuggling out a highly classified and extremely deadly bioengineered weapon, and then smuggle that same weapon into another country, living under the radar of literally everyone and now...? Now you play the cop card? Nice try suit, I know you don't have any legal right to arrest me in this country and with all the shit you've done I'm pretty sure you don't have the authority to do anything at all."
Levi sucked in a steadying breath, oh the things this boy didn't know. "Do you have to argue everything? Christ..." He muttered but then looked away and then up, asking the sky for forgiveness and giving the pendant around his neck a quick kiss.
"Let me go." Vince ordered with authority. "You need my help and you know it."
Levi glared, the two engaging in a deadly stare down for what seemed like an eternity, neither one willing to break the hold they had on one another.
