Lexa is sitting across the table. She's staring at Clarke.

'What looks better on me black or red?' Clarke asks.

'I don't know. I haven't seen you in red yet,' Lexa says.

'I'm wearing red underneath this,' Clarke says. Lexa chokes on her water.

'I didn't mean it like that,' Clarke says while laughing at Lexa's reaction.

'I'm sorry that was just,' Lexa started. 'Unexpected,' she finishes. Clarke chuckles.

'So tell me something about yourself,' Clarke says.

'Clarke we're not strangers,' Lexa says.

'Oh I know,' Clarke says as she smirks. 'It's just. I only know what you like sleeping and I know your ex and where you live but that's it,' she says.

'You weren't supposed to meet Costia I promise you that,' Lexa says. Clarke chuckles.

'I know Lex,' Clarke says.

'Well. I like it when you call me Lex,' Lexa says.

'You do?' Clarke asks.

'Yeah I do,' Lexa says. Clarke places her hand on top of Lexa's.

'And I like it when you do that,' Lexa says. Clarke smiles.

'And I love you smile,' she says.

'Tell me about you, not what you love about me,' Clarke says.

'Well I'm adopted,' Lexa says. Clarke tilted her head not out of judgement but out of curiosity. This made Lexa's insides twist. It gave her a warm and safe feeling. 'My biological parents died the day I was born. They got in a car accident when my dad was driving my mom to the hospital. To give birth to me. The doctors managed to save me. And I guess my dad couldn't take the loss of his wife. He died of a heart attack only hours later. Titus adopted many children. We all lived together. After losing his wife he was lonely and took us all in. Many kids were scared but he let them know they were loved. That's how I met Anya actually,' Lexa says. Clarke rubs comforting circles on Lexa's hand. 'His home where we all lived actually inspired me to start teaching. I've always loved kids and I helped the younger kids with their homework. So yeah,' Lexa says. 'Tell me something about you,' she says. Clarke smiles and looks down at her plate.

'Well, I'm from California, but my mom moved to Arkadia when her and my dad divorced. My dad still lives in California. I used to study pre-med but I switched to art because pre-med was making me miserable,' Clarke says.

'Were you failing pre-med?' Lexa asks.

'No I just knew I was doing it for my mom and not for me,' Clarke says.

'What made you finally switch?' Lexa asks.

'My dad I guess. I went home to California for the holidays. He noticed I was miserable and well he talked to me about it and then convinced me to do what I love to do,' she says. 'I think I could've become a doctor if I wanted because I wasn't failing or anything. It just made me unhappy,' she says.

'You would definitely look good in scrubs,' Lexa says. Clarke giggles. 'Your dad seems like a nice person,' she says.

'He is. He's amazing. He's always supported me just the way I am, which my mom had a little trouble with sometimes,' Clarke says.

'And why is that?' Lexa asks.

'Well when I was like eleven my parents caught me kissing a girl and well my at dinner that night my dad just went kiss whoever you want but my mom had some trouble with it,' Clarke says.

'I'm sorry,' Lexa says.

'It's fine she's fine with it now. She just has to get used to things,' Clarke says.
