Raya's hands shook from nerves. No matter. They were going to finish this, she decided. No more messing around, no more playing with her heart. She called out to her servant "please tell Namaari to find me when she's free."

A few minutes later, Namaari entered Raya's room quietly, her training clearly at work as she barely made a sound. Were those broad shoulders, quaking a bit? No, it couldn't be. She stood there, heart pumping in her breast. For once, it seemed, they were alone. This felt like the adrenaline rush before one of their fights, for she had nothing else to compare it to.

Only this time there was no anger masking Namaari's features, just the sound of her heart loud enough for her to feel, strong enough to overwhelm.

She liked to talk and Namaari didn't; she was a member of Heart and Namaari wasn't; Namaari guarded herself and Raya didn't. Still, Namaari allowed the tug she felt within to pull her close to Raya until the distance between their waists closed.

"You asked for me?" Namaari asked, hesitating. They hadn't talked since their last fight.

Raya leaned forward to display the lower shirt she had thrown on last minute, deciding that the risk of maybe looking like she was about to hurl was worth still trying to come across as alluring.

"Hey, Princess Undercut." Raya joked as Namaari's eyes narrowed, taking a steadying breath as she sobered. "We're all alone, Dep La. Surely you can be honest and trust me this once. Remember what Sisu taught us. Tell me what's on your mind. You know I could never really hurt you. Please?" Raya's voice broke, and she couldn't make eye contact with Namaari.

It didn't matter, for Namaari's eyes were trained stoically on the wall behind her. Raya was beginning to lose hope, that is, until...

Namaari's startlingly raspy voice made her heart skip a beat. "I'd like to kiss you without asking permission, but I can't..." She couldn't control the flutter within, the lump in her throat, the violent throbbing of her chest. "I shouldn't..." Namaari swallowed hard as her hand slid down Raya's back, sending impulses to her spine as he pressed a little harder against her until their cheeks brushed. "I won't..." she parted to look at her, "if you don't want me to."

There was so much adrenaline Raya nearly forgot to breathe, eyes jumping from Namaari's lips to her eyes, her heart an unlocked grenade. At first she was nervous, but then Namaari stroked the back of her hair, and then suddenly she wasn't so nervous anymore.

Gods of... She gave in, parting her lips only to feel hers pressing in, until her hands, with a mind of their
own, took hold of Namaari and everything accelerated.

Raya almost stopped breathing. Namaari shuddered and there was a sound from the back of her throat, half moan, half growl. Little shivers of pleasure and panic shot through her as she made the kiss heavier. She dug her fingers through Namaari's undercut. It was soft, silky. Nothing else about her felt that way. The rush of sensations crawling across her body was thrilling. Maddening. Scary.

"You shouldn't have kissed me like that!" She found herself gasping, caught between an array of feelings and trying to regain sense in her arms.

Namaari's half-closed eyes were now wide open. "How...how would you like to be kissed?" An intense desire washed over her features, she was scanning her for answers.

Raya was stunned-at herself, at the enticing flavor of the foreign lips she found herself longing for. It took a split second to give into them again, surrendering to the downward force pulling her under.

Namaari pushed her upwards, allowing her legs to cross around her waist, and parted only to look at her flustered face, searching for reassurance. She did like being kissed.

A lightness overtook over both of them as they mirrored a dumbstruck smile and giddiness. Whatever rush this was, whatever her lips brought, she wanted more.

And Namaari was more than happy to oblige.
