*flashback*

I never did like it when my dad got those phone calls because those phone calls would mean he would have to go away and I always missed him terribly when he was away.

It was a starry night and me and my dad were lying on the grass in our yard at the back of our house stargazing at the night sky that was exploding with hundreds of burning bright white balls of gases that sparkled and flickered with life. My dad and I could stay like this for hours until my mom used to drag us back into the house and tell us to get some sleep.

"Elara," do you know what a supernova is?" "No dad I don't think I know what a supernova is I replied, what is it?" "It's when a star has come to the end of its life and explodes with amazing colors, very beautiful yet so deadly and dangerous at the same time. What I'm trying to say is people are like supernovas, there are some who shine so bright that they leave their mark and impact in the universe but others they don't shine to make an impact instead all they do is harm and destroy. "Sounds confusing dad."

My dad took my hand in his, "my girl you might not understand this yet but when the time is right and when it is your time to shine you will understand, and always remember to put others and their safety before anyone else." After a couple of minutes, my mom came from inside the house and she told my dad that the phone was ringing and that it was for him. We both got up and I gave my dad the tightest hug I could manage and he put his chin on my head and whispered into my hair "I love you, my stardust girl." A tear rolled down my face, "I love you too daddy."

We pulled apart and then we walked back into the house together, after my dad answered the call he came and tucked me in my bed goodnight. Little did I know that was the last phone call my dad would ever receive......

There was a slight ringing in my ears I slowly open my eyes and my vision is slightly blurry and I feel a little disorientated. I blink a few times to get my vision clear and back to normal and remember that I'm on the space jet bound for the Legion. The ringing in my ears turned out to be Captain Montgomery trying to get everyone's attention making sure we are still all okay and coming by back to our senses.

The captain says, "Alright cadets thank the maker that we have reached the Legion and we didn't hit any bumps in the fold if you think you are seeing things due to hallucinations being a side effect from going through the fold tell us immediately and we'll take you to the med bay where a doctor will attend to you. You all are going to unbuckle yourselves and then get in a line formation and we will proceed to enter the Legion." Further instructions will be given thereafter."

All of us cadets replied with a "Yes Sir." We all then unbuckled ourselves from our seats and stood in formation, my hands started to feel sticky from sweating from nervousness. In our formation, we followed the captain out of the jet into the docking bay and then through into a white and silver hallway. The air felt a little cold I don't know if that was just me and my nerves or if any of the other cadets could feel it too. We walked down the longish hallway to the door at the end of it and followed the Captain through it when I walked through the door and entered into what looked to be a great hall that was filled with people all walking about and doing whatever they were doing.

Only a few people lifted their heads and looked at us cadets probably only out of some curiosity but other than that people continued to do what they were doing. I had already experienced this feeling of people not acknowledging me so it didn't really bother me, who were these people to know who they were anyway, just some newbie cadets.
