By 5:30 I was awake, my body was used to getting up at that time every day because I used to gym before going to the Academy for classes. After I washed up in the bathroom and got dressed I started to pack my bag.
Since I was only allowed to pack one bag I was limited to what I could pack, so I decided to pack in two of my gym outfits and some undergarments of course, and a pair of sweatpants and a plain black teeshirt which is my sleepwear. I had to of course pack one fantasy and 1 mystery novel as they are a piece of homecoming with me. In the small front pouch, I packed my hairbrush and some hair ties plus my iPod and earphones. I was blessed with clear skin and didn't wear any makeup so I didn't have to pack anything like that. I've heard boys that also attended the academy say that girls are always so complicated, to that I rolled my eyes and said to myself, yeah right that's what you think not all girls are, hell guys are the complicated ones they are like an alien species, maybe that's the reason I never made friends was because my opinion on things was so different from others...
By the time I packed the last few items in my bag, it was already 6:15, time to be flying.
I opened my door and walked through the corridor that leads to the kitchen and on my way I looked at all the family photos on the wall, there were a lot of great memories on here. As I entered the kitchen I saw my mom leaning on the kitchen counter sipping on her cup of coffee, she lifts her head and up and looks at me and asks,
"Hey sweetie, are you ready?" "Would you like anything to eat before we leave?" "Yes I think I'm all ready and packed to go mom but I think with all the excitement and nerves I don't really feel like eating anything, "I'll just have a granola bar and some water." My mom looks slightly worried but shrugs the look off. "Okay if your sure, we should get going then we don't want to late," my mom says.
Ten minutes later we're on the road and heading for the space station, it's not too far from where we live. The space station is just on the outskirts of town because there's more land area for launch pads and space jets, vintage rocket ships, old and new technology items, land for testing space weapons, etc. We pull up into the parking lot and I open and lean on the car door gazing at the incredible sight before me, the glass and silver-gray building that's like a giant mirror that reflects the sunlight with some white fluffy clouds floating nearby.
Just a few meters ahead there were cadets gathered with their families and friends at the entrance of the space station. I and mom headed over there to wait with them until we were told what to do and where to go.
A few minutes later a lady in an all-white space uniform came out of the front doors from the inside, holding a megaphone. She starts to speak, "Ladies and gentlemen if I can please have your attention." Everyone keeps quiet to listen. "All cadets you have five minutes to say your goodbyes and farewells to your family and friends. You'll all line up in front of this entrance door and then I'll lead you to the launch pad where you will board the space jet." "Thank you, you may proceed."
