The alarm went off, the annoyin robotic beeping rang my ears. I turned over and starred at it, 0600. It was time for the morning work out routine that was required to do. They had cameras that spied on you, they could tell if you were slacking at all. I rolled out of bed as my television turned on, a clock appeared, giving 15 minutes before the program would start. I went over to the vanity area, I began to put on my medical gear. A red long sleeve shirt with a white cross and artic camo pants, I tied my combat boots and looked into the mirror. My big brown eyes and jaw length brunette hair stood out. Im extremley pale and have the body a of twelve year old boy. Not that it mattered at least I'm 5'8", taller than most of the girls here.

"Five minute warning miss Vouse" the television told me.

"yea yea, no one cares." I muttured under my breath.

I put on a smudge of eyeline and mascara. Contraband that I smuggled in from one black markets. No one really cared except for that one guard Lynda. She snapped at me for having read lip stick, not that I cared. I used to be a princess and now I'm being treated like scum, but I have dirt on her that can make her have her head slayed. No one likes to mess with me, I'm incredibly muscular and athletic from boot camp. Most of the guards here are fat and can barley hold their own weight.

I finshed up and put on a red beanie, It made me feel different from everyone else. I walked infront the the TV and watched as I had 30 seconds to spare. As the clock ticked down I paced until I head the beep.

"Good moring Noel Vouse. Today's work out with be running for five minutes, 50 russian twist, and 4 sets of 20 squats. You have an hour to complete your task. Please apply your bracelet for monitoring purposes. You are allowed one break."

I rolled my eyes and put on the stupid bracelete, first thing to start was running. I put on a heavy coat and some gloves and opened the front door. I saw everyone starting to run, it was raining down snow and people were huddling in groups to stay warm while running. I took off and pressed start on the bracelet and the time began. The wind burned my face, I should've grabbed my mask but it's too late now.

The five minutes passed threw like a breeze, I wasn't even the slightest bit of tired. I walked up into my house and pressed stop on the timer. A green check mark appeared and now a counter for the russian twist came up. I took off my coat and sat on the ground, quickly blowing threw the exercise. Another check mark, then another counter. It took about another 15 minutes but I got threw the squats.

My bracelet turned off and dismissed me. I took it off and tossed it on my bed. I had until 0900 to report to training. I decided that I would catch up on my reading, from the bookshelf, I pulled out a book about the plains. It had pictures of the paradise, and every ounce of information about it. How it always  21 degrees celcieus and sunny. The breeze that roles threw there... and the fact that women can marry who ever they want and have any job they want.

I sat the book back on the shelf after reading it for about 20 minutes. It was 0814 and I still had some time. I walked up to my contraband book and slid it out. It was a hallowed out dictionary that held my stuff in it. A flask of whiskey, cigarettes , and my one and only friend... pain killers. I picked up the jar it was in, and looked at the mark pills.

I smiled and put them back, not a great thing to take before training. So I pulled out a cig and and found matches in the kitchen. I inhaled the smoke and blew it out the back window, a place where no one could smell the greatness. Time rolled to about half an hour, it was 0844.. time to go.

I walked out on to the street, the snow slowed down to a flurry. I should have taken a pill, life was just too miserable without one. I walked by the training achedemy for the army. I watched as the men pushed water around with their hands like magic. They have the ability to control water, something you are only tought how to do has a solider... it was banded for anyone else to learn the black magic. They practiced making ice shards to throw at targets.

I looked at my hands, I knew how to bend, but it was strictly forbidden. My mother tought me before her death.. she warned me to never perform such an act unless it was an emergency. To that I vowed to my mother I wouldn't. I walked into my branch and entered my class room, to a  surprise I would have never expected.
