Chapter 3

"HEY!" I said louder than I meant to.

"Toughen up big boy."

I was peacefully sleeping in the rental car, slumped up on the back of the seat when someone jabbed me, hard. I looked up to see that it was Erica.

"Anyways, why did YOU wake me up. You don't have the heart to do that."

For a normal person, their reaction to me saying that would probably be hurt, or offended. Erica on the other hand wasn't, she was colder than most people (currently for a unknown reason), so she just glared at me.

"Mike forced me to."

"How?"

"Get up, we're going." Erica said, completly dodging my question. I sighed and did as she said. When I saw where we were headed, I was shocked. It was my parents house.

"How do you know where my parents live?" I said looking toward mike who was on a chair in the front porch.

"I've had their number since I got first got a phone."

"Oh yeah, I forgot."

The reason he had my parents phone number is because we are childhood friends. We've known each other since we were learning our abc's. Always in the same neighborhood, school, lunch table, and even basket ball team. We came to the front door and rang the doorbell.

"Where are the others?" I asked.

"They are at a hotel not too far from here." Mike replied.

"Why... oh wait there isn't enough space here."

"Yep."

The door opened and my there were my parents.

"Mom! Dad!"

"Oh, Ben we've missed you so much!"

They hugged me tightly. Mike had tears of joy in his eyes while Erica was completly unfazed by the reunion.

After we finished hugging, They led us inside to a nice looking house. There were a few pictures of me with my parents on the wall, as well as some paintings. We went to the kitchen and it smelled wonderful. There was already a meal on the table, (That was not suprising because my mom loves to cook) it looked delicious! I quickly went to the restroom to wash my hands. I finished up and went back to the table to find everyone, except Erica, gone.

"Have you seen the others?" I asked.

"Nope."

I decided to look around. I checked upstairs, nothing. I checked outside, nothing. I even checked the backyard, nothing. I was just starting to become worried when mike and my parents burst through the front door.

"Ok we're back." Mike said, panting.

"Where were..." I didn't get to finish because my dad cut me off.

"Lets eat, shall we!"

I though about pressing their disappearence further, but decided against it. If they didn't want to share it with me, then they wouldn't have to. I was here to hang out and relax anyways.

We all sat down and started eating. After that we decided to catch up, even though it was almost 12:00. I asked them about their lives and they told me some stories about what they did since the last time I visited them. Eventually my mom asked me,

"So, what about you? Did anything interesting happen?"

"Oh I... umm... my girlfriend cheated on me." My parents gasped.

"Oh no, Ben i'm so sorry." Mom looked toward Mike.

"So thats why you said that Ben was 'going through some things'."

"Yeah." Mike sighed. I told my parents about everything. How we had a thanks giving day party (which my parents were upset at me because I didn't invite them), how Vi went in early to help set up, and the part that i hated most. When I was finished speaking I felt sad, remembering that moment hurt, a lot, but they apreciated that I explained everything.

"You should get some rest kiddo, you had a long day." Dad said.

"Your father's right, getting some rest will help you calm down." Mom piped up.

I agreed and then went to my old bedroom. I crashed down onto my old bed and fell fast asleep. 

I tried to make this chapter longer, but i'm not that creative, soooo ya. I will definetly update a lot more since it is spirng break for me and i get some time off, so see ya later, this CookieGuy signing out, bye bye! 😊
