Those poor children. So young. So innocent. Already orphans. That's what people would say when they saw the two young Parker children, twelve year old Valentina her blonde hair and blue eyes so perfect she almost looked angelic as she clutched onto the chubby hand of her little brother the six year old Peter. It had only been two days since their parents plane had gone down killing not just them but also over one hundred and fifty other people, the two young children had readily been welcomed in by their aunt and uncle, May and Ben but everybody who laid eyes on them would feel a shiver blow down their spines when they noticed the lifelessness that was now in Valentina's eyes replacing the once lively orbs.

"Valentina, Peter come and eat something" A gentle voice called out that the two immediately recognised to belong to their aunt May who was walking towards them with a sad smile on her beautiful face.

"Are you going to leave us too aunt May?" Valentina suddenly asked, her voice so quiet it was barely above a whisper.

May dropped down to her knees and ushered Peter over to their Uncle Ben who was stood a few feet away looking at the two orphans with heartbreak in his eyes, when the younger boy was gone she turned to the tall blonde pre teen and gently took her face into her hands.

"I promise I won't leave you for a very, very long time. I'm here, always. I promise." May promised, her voice gentle but firm.

No more words were exchanged after that, May simply took the girls hand into her own and guided her through to the kitchen where food had been piling up since the news of the deaths had come out. May picked up a plate and began to fill it with all sorts of Italian foods, brought by her family to show their sorrow for the two children that the DeLuca family saw as two of their own though not related by blood.

After that Valentina began to talk more, like the old her, she even began to behave more like the old her but that sorrow in her ocean eyes never quite departed.

Positive.

Why did she have to go to that stupid party? Why did she have to accept that stupid drink? Why couldn't she just find the strength to pull away when that boy was dragging her to the bedroom?

Ruined. She feels ruined and broken. It was her fault she knows. She was drunk. She was alone. Her skirt was short. She must have been asking for it. Okay so perhaps she couldn't move, so perhaps she couldn't say yes but she couldn't say no either so it must have been her fault.

It doesn't matter that in the video she's paralysed, it doesn't matter that she can hear the laughter of that boy and his friend behind her, it doesn't even matter that in the video you can see the tears streaming down her cheeks.

Not that any of that even matters anymore, there were more pressing issues. In the seven weeks since it had all happened, since she had gone to that stupid party and that boy had dragged her upstairs shed never even thought about whether he'd had the mind to use a condom but then when she'd missed her period she'd instinctively known. She wasn't so stupid that she didn't know what a missed period and nausea meant.

She hadn't told anybody what happened to her, she hadn't told anybody how stupid she'd been and she certainly hadn't gone to the cops. What was the point anyway? They'd all just tell her the same things she already knew. It was her fault. She'd been asking for it. She was stupid and drunk and she'd taken a drink from a boy she barely even knew.
