Esme has been ignoring me the past couple of days but I'm not sure why. I decide to call her-
Esme: Hello?
Ruel: hey. Um. Why haven't you been talking to me lately?
Esme: you're so simple minded Ruel. You really don't understand. You are so precious to me yet you make me so annoyed. I'm tired. Bye
Ruel: no no no don't hang up pleas-
I don't understand. I thought she was just too busy to talk, but why is she mad at me? I pull my blanket over my head and try to sleep off my stress.
"Yo, it's time to wake up. It's dinner time. Dad cooked something new. I know you'll love it. It smells sooo good", Coco comes dashing into my room. I just grunt and turn around. "Ugh, what now Ruel? What's gotten into you these days? Come on, let's eat dinner." I don't want to. I don't want to. "Yo, are you really okay? If you want to talk, I'm here." I shake my head and she goes downstairs.
My mom comes up and into my room. "Hey Ruel, let's eat dinner! We are starving and can't eat without you,"I lift my head. "Hey, why are you crying? Did someone hurt your feelings? Tell me." I just feel like being stubborn right now so I just shake my head. "Okay well I'll just leave your plate on the table. I'll come to check on you after dinner."
Esme
I can't believe him. I can't believe how ignorant he is. How could he do this to me. I thought I could trust him and that he was my best friend.
Ruel
I can't take this shit right now. I push open my window and climb out. When feet finally reach the ground, I bolt to the path to the beach.
I sit and watch the sunset. It's a windy night, but that's what makes it better. This method never fails me.

I receive a text from my mom and a missed call. Mom: Ruel! Where are you?
Right, I forgot she was coming to check on me after dinner.
Ruel: I'm at the beach but I'll be back. I just want air, don't worry.
I snap a photo and sit in silence, until my phone buzzes again.
