THIRTY EIGHT: Summer

eight months

as it passed by and blew

like the soft breeze

of the summer season

the heat of the sun

as my body longs for relief

the fresh cold water of the sea

my heart also longs for the warmth of

your tight embrace and the heat of your palms

over my own

fingers intertwined

with the promise of forever

i stare at the ocean before me

with tears in my eyes

eight months

it has been that long since you left me

to experience heaven on your own

but i long for you

my heart still yearns for you

and you still own each and every piece of me.

for you are my sun in the summer heat

and i am your moon

maybe we never were meant to be together.

as the sun and the moon never meets

but we tried.

and in the end,

we failed.
