George's eyes fluttered open to the canopy up above usually I never noticed how pretty it was in the woods. The sun dared to seep through the branches to make the haunted forest more visible. The birds chirped louder than ever, dew started to melt from the cold night. I noticed that a cloak was on top of me, a green cloak. I grabbed it and put my face to it, taking in a deep breath. Smelt kinda nice, I think smiling slightly. I flush at the thought and get up holding the cloak under my arm.
Where's Dream Gone too?
I looked around and found that he wasn't sitting in the spot where I had left him. I walk around through the forest calling for his name. "Dream..."
I trail off as I come into a sunny clearing and a river. At the edge of it sat Dream.
My eyes trailed down to his side, there lay his mask on the ground. My hands get sweaty. I don't say anything, I'm not sure what to say.
His back is turned towards me, so I can't see his face. I misplace my foot and step on a twig. he hears. He quickly grabs for his mask putting it back on."What the heck are you doing here George!?" He snarled.
I stammer, "I was just-" I hand out his cloak and he grabs it quickly.
He turns toward me hesitantly, "how long have you been standing there." He asked, putting on his cloak.
I narrowed my eyes, "why do you even care Dream?"
He stood there staring at me for a long second, before he walked dangerously close to me, bending down slightly and putting his masked face right next to mine."George, never follow me into the woods, again." My eyes trailed down, even though he was wearing a mask I could feel his eyes piercing me.
"okay.." I replied with a small voice. With that he threw his cloak back walking back towards the ruined castle.
I didn't want to go back after what happened, I went to the meadows. They didnt look as pretty, the bees seemed agitated, and the sun was blocked with rain clouds. Just then, it started to rain.
I've never walked farther than the meadows, maybe there was a rainbow on the other side, I think with light sarcasm, part of me hoped there was one.
I walked slowly, the rain had started to fall harder. My cape flapped vigorously in the wind. Maybe I should go back? Lost in thought I didn't see the large hole in the ground.
just before plummeting down it, I skidded to a stop. but it didn't help the mud now wet and slimy had no grip. I slipped and fell towards the menacing hole, I turn around sharply grasping onto what I hoped wasnt unstable mud. My eyes widened as I started to slowly slip down, i was plastered in the slimy mud, but that's not what I was concerned about.
How far down? Where did it lead? Am i going to die? Wait..Dream!
"DREAM!" i scream but Thunder booms as I call his name. and just as it does, my fingers fail, I gasp falling down into the black hole. Suddenly My fall is stopped, my cape half choking me to death. I struggle to grab where it was choking me spinning around helplessly, I finally spot him, Dream, grasping my cape with struggle. his hair was a mess, cuts laced him and...his face. His mask lay on the side of his head, it was too dark to really tell what he looked like but I could his eyes staring back tears rimmed them."George! Give me your hand!" He cries giving me a hand and leaning forward as much as he can. heart pounding in my chest, I reach spinning as I do so.
My fingers are so close, so close..
Tears start falling from my face, "D-dream-" I sob.
Suddenly behind Dream a menacing shadow comes behind him. Horror strikes my face. "DREAM!!!!!-" Suddenly a loud explosion flashes, my ears rang, I noticed that I was falling again, everything seemed slow. the sounds and flashbacks rewinded like a cassette tape until the tape couldn't go back anymore. Everything turned to black.
