In a lush valley next to a deep fjord, the castle of Arendelle lay silent in the night. The bright glows of the northern lights danced across the damp windows, wakening the small princess inside. She sat up in her bed to see the wonderful night lights outside.

She bounced out of bed and tiptoed across the bedroom to wake her older sister. "Elsa, Elsa!!" she said urgently. "Wake up! Wake up!"

Elsa, who was eight years older than her little sister, groaned and covered her face with her blanket, "Anna, go back to bed."

But Anna wouldn't be giving up so easily. "But I just can't! The skies awake, so I'm awake, and so we have to play," she whined. Climbing on top of her sister now, she pulled the covers back and opened one of Elsa's eyes, "Do you want to build a snowman?"

Both of Elsa's eyes popped open, that had gotten her attention.

They were the daughters of Arendelle's King and Queen, and the best of friends. They ran through the hall, and down the stairs into the Great Hall, where all the royal balls were held. Still in their nightgowns the girls hurried into the room, and shut the door behind them, all while trying to muffle their laughing and giggling so they did not wake the rest of the castle. The girls turned to look at one another.

"Are you ready?" Elsa asked, smiling and giggling.

"Yes, yes! Do the magic! Do the magic!" Anna shouted, trying to hold in her excitement.

Elsa giggled once more, and waved her hands into the air, releasing thousands of tiny snowflakes in a burst of flurry from her small hands!

Anna applauded joyfully. She knew that her sister Elsa had very special powers: she could create snow and ice with a flick of her fingers, even if it was in the middle of summer!

With a whirl and a twist Elsa filled the ball room with mounds of white powdery snow. She then stomp her foot, and glittery ice swept across the floor. She laughed to see her little sister so happily hopping around.

Together, they went to work on their snowman. Elsa began to roll the body of the snowman, while Anna did her best to roll out the snowman's head. Elsa helped Anna lift her lumpy snowman head onto the body, while Anna ran off to the kitchen to grab a carrot for his nose.

"Snowman!" Anna squeaked proudly.

Elsa laughed at the lopsided snowman, "Hi, I'm Olaf," She said in the deepest voice she could, standing behind Olaf and moving his little stick arms as she spoke. "And I like warm hugs."

"Awwwe, I love you Olaf!" Anna shouted as she gave their snowman a big warm hug.

The girls slid around on the ice with their silly looking snowman. Then Elsa gathered her magic and made an ice slide, the girls slid down, squealing with delight. Anna climbed up the slide again and swooped down the slide, then soared up of the little ramp at the end. Elsa quickly created another snow mound as Anna came down, as she gained speed and was tossed upward again, Elsa had to work a lot faster and create more snow mounds to catch her sister. She kept making snow mounds so her sister could stay aloft as she flew around the ball room.

"Anna, slow down! You're going to fast!" Elsa shouted, starting to get worried. "Anna, you're going to high, I can't keep up!"

But young Anna was having way too much fun, the little princess was fearless, jumping and sliding to each new mound, as fast as her sister created them. Elsa quickly raised her hand to create the next snow mound, but suddenly lost her balance and slipped on the ice. As she stumbled, her magic went awry, and right before she fell her frozen blast struck Anna on the side of the head, right through her orange auburn locks.
