A/n: scenes felt badly paced, i didn't know how to fix them sorry!

I stood by the doors along with Tadokoro, peaking into the large arena. The dark tunnel peaked into the bright stage. She seemed to be shaking, unconsciously brushing her hand against mine. I flinched, pulling it away.

"T-there's a lot of people, L/n," she said, a shadow casted on her eyes as she bit her lips. "I'm not sure if Soma can do this..."

I slightly chuckled, trying to calm my own nerves. I placed a hand over my chest, feeling my heart rapidly beating. "Have a bit of faith in him, won't you?"

A squeaking of a cart caught my attention as I turned around. Konishi rolled in a blue dolly with bags and boxes of supplies. He sighed, letting go out the handle before running his hand through his hair.

"Here are the ingredients and tools you need for the match. I got everything you asked for." he said, putting his arms on his hip.

"Yup! Thanks, Konishi!" Soma said. He crouched down and looked through the ingredients, pulling some out to examine.

"Did you get any sleep Yukihira?" Konishi asked, kind of concerned.

"Uh, afterwards I tweaked the sauce a little more. Well, I think I got about two hours." he answered as he got up.

That's a lie, I thought. I let out a sigh as I rested my head on the wall. He kept me up until I said the dish was good. I shivered, still feel a bit nauseous from the thought.

Tadokoro let a little squeak, letting go of the door. She turned around with a pale face.

"S-Soma, d-don't get too nervous..." Megumi walked back to them, all panicky and waving her hands around.

"D-Don't get nervous, okay?! F-for times like this, you can write the "man" character on your hand. On your hand okay?" she said as she repeatedly wrote it down on her own hand.

"Okay, sure. Why don't you go ahead and do that, Tadokoro?" Soma said with a smug face as he stared down at Megumi.

She faced him, "Huh? Aren't you nervous at all? You're going to be cooking in front of that huge crowd."

I nodded in agreement with her, even though I was quite far from them. I mostly baked for private places and avoided crowds. The media didn't help at all with my fear.

"Nope," Soma said. "This place isn't scary at all, compared to when I have to cook in front of customers with our restaurant's reputation on the line."
