Chapter 8

** Chapter 8 **

** Katie's P.O.V **

It was my fifth day of being here and everything was running smoothly with me and Jai. Him and Luke had made up and today we we're going on a double date with James and his new girlfriend Ashley.

" Party timeeeee!" James cheered.

" We're only going to the beach" Jai laughed.

" Nope, me and Ashley have a little surprise for you" James said reaching into his pocket.

" Whats that?" I asked.

" Four tickets to the boat party" He showed us the tickets.

" Boat party?" I asked nervously. I've been seasick ever since I can remember plus I really wasn't dressed for a party, I was in a bikini with shorts and a tshirt over it!

" Yeah, thats cool with you isn't it?" He asked.

" Yeah, should be fun" I smiled to cover up the pain behind my eyes.

" Are you okay with this?" Jai asked.

" Yeah, I just get a little seasick thats all, I'm sure once the party starts I'll have forgotten all about it" I replied.

" If you're sure?" He said taking one hand off the wheel and rubbing my knee in comfort, he had recently passed his driving test so he was pretty pumped about that.

" I'm sure" I smiled.

" Cool, so boat party it is!" Ashley cheered. 

The boat party wasn't for another hour so we had to stay on the beach for a while.

" Wanna go for a walk?" Jai asked as he layed a towel on the sand.

" Yeah sure" I said removing my sunglasses from my face and shaking all of the sand from my body. He took my hand and headed towards the sea.

" So I've been thinking about us," He began taking a deep breath, oh god, this was the break up talk wasn't it? " With you going back to Adelaide in a few days and me living her in Melbourne its going to be really hard, but I want you to know, I'm willing to make it work if you are?" He looked into my eyes.

" Jai, of course I will" I hugged him tightly.

" Don't ever let me go" He whispered in my ear.

" I won't" I whispered back.

" There's something else I wanted to say" He said.

" Whats that?" I asked.

" This!" He said picking me up and running towards the sea.

" Jai stop!" I said giggling trying to get away.

" One...two...three!" He said about to throw me into the sea, but instead spun me around and put me down. He just went to kiss me when James voice called us.

" COME ON LOSERS, WE NEED TO GET ON THE BOAT!" He said as tons of teens rushed onto the boat.

" We're coming!" Jai replied before picking up his beanie from the sand and shoving it back on.

** The Boat Party **

The atmosphere on the boat was amazing, everyone was having fun, the music was blasting and best of all, Jai was here with me.

" Is your stomach okay?" Jai asked rubbing my belly.

" Yeah, its fine thanks" I smiled.

" Do you want a drink?" He asked.

" Yes please" I replied.

" I'll get you something now, what do you want?" He asked.

" Surprise me" I winked, not because I actually wanted him to surprise me, but the fact I had no idea of any of the names of any alcoholic drinks.

" Can I get you a drink?" A tanned boy asked putting his arm around me. 

" No thank you, my boyfriends just gone to get me one" I replied, removing his arm from my shoulder.

" Oh you're 'boyfriend' is it?" He said sarcastically." Well tell your boyfriend to watch it, he's got competition" He said clearly full of himself.

" Who is this?" Jai asked as he returned with the drinks. I shook my head.

" I'm Riley who the hell are you?" The boy raised his voice.

" I'm her boyfriend" Jai stood in front of me.

" This is him? You're kiddding me right!" He laughed at Jai.

" Just back away from her okay" Jai pushed him slightly.

" Woah, wanna fight do ya?" The boy made punching gestures, I couldn't stand to see Jai look so terrified.

" Listen 'Riley', I'm not interested okay, so you have two options either you leave us alone and go hit on some other poor girl or I get security to throw you off the boat, it that clear?" I said stepping in front off Jai.

" Whatever I'm done with you chicks, no need to get your nickers in a twist" He shrugged it off.

" Nice meeting you" I said smugly before turning my back to him.

" That was hilarious! I've never seen you so fiesty!" Jai laughed.

" Well, what can I say" I joked.

" Sorry I wasn't there before, when that jerk was hitting on you" Jai looked sympathetic.

" Are you kidding me? His teeth we're brighter than he was!" I said and Jai bursted into hyserics laughing.

" Here's your drink by the way?" Jai said handing me a drink, it was blue with a little umberella thing and a lime slice on the side of it. " Try this, its awesome" He said. I took the umberella out and took a sip, at first it was sour, but after a while it was actuallypretty good. As the day went on, we became more and more drunk. I was pretty sober as I'd only had two of those blue drinks, Jai however was really getting into the spirit of things.

" CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" James chanted as Jai downed a huge bowl of some sort of red coloured vodka.

" Hey babe" He stumbled over to me after he had finished.

" Are you okay?" I asked trying to hold him upright.

"  Yeah I'm fine, are you?" He slurred.

" Actually I'm feeling a little sick, are you okay while I just go to the bathroom?" I asked.

" Me? I'm fine, don't you worry about me, because I love you, and you love me" He hugged me. So this is what drunk Jai was like, emotional and hard to understand.

" Okay then" I said pulling away." James will you make sure he's okay?" I mouthed to James who was a couple meteres away from me. He gave me the thumbs up." Jai I think James wants you" I pinted over to James and directed him over where James was, he was a bit busy talking to Ashley. I ran to the bathroom as soon as I made sure he was okay. A sudden feeling that I was about to throw up hit me, I had to get to the bathroom asap. Luckily the toilet was vacant so I quickly rushed into it and shut the door behind me. I threw up as soon as I closed the door, it was horrible. I hated being sick and especially hated the fact I needed to go look after Jai on top of that! I quickly washed my face under the tap and went to the bar to order a glass of water to get rid of the taste.

" Jai? Jai?" I called as I went back up to the deck. There was a sudden cheer coming from the middle of a crowd of people, I pushed my way to the front to see what the fuss was about. It was Jai, but what he was doing made me want the ground to just swallow me up, I felt like I wanted to vomit again. He was making out with some random girl in a bikini." Jai?" I asked, he turned around, his face was stunned.
