** Chapter 3 **

** Katie's P.O.V **

I couldn't feel anymore embarassed than I already did. Jai leaded the way out of the building.

" I'm sorry about them, they're faggots" Jai defended me.

" Its fine, its not your fault" I replied shyly. My phone rang, it was a text from my mum.

" Where r u luv? x" It read. It was so cringey when she used 'text talk'.

" Just gone for a little walk, it was a bit hot in there, be back soon x" I replied. Within a mintue I got a reply.

" Make sure ure bc by 8, I see Jai iz gon 2 ;)" She texted back.

" Mum, I don't even like him like that, I swear! Just leave it please:(" I replied.

" If you say so ;)" She answered. 

" Who's that?" Jai asked putting his hands in his suit pockets.

"  Just my mum wondering where I am" I replied.

" Oh, do you need to go back?" He asked.

" No, as long as I'm back by 8 its fine with her" I said.

" Oh cool, so how do you like Melbourne?" He looked at the floor.

" I've only been here for six hours but I'm going to a soccer game tomorrow with Steve and my dad so it should be good" I said.

" No way! Tomorrow at 2?" He asked.

" Something like that" I replied.

" Same! Me, Luke and Skip are going, you should come too!" He exclaimed.

" Yeah sure, sounds cool" I said trying not to seem to eager. We eventually reached the local park.

"  How did you know this was here?" I asked.

" We've filmed a couple of videos here" He said opening the gate.

" Videos?" I asked.

" Yeah, for our youtube channel" Jai said, a small smile appeared on Jai's face as he remembered filming here.

" Oh yeah, I remember Steve saying something about that" I answered. " So are you guys like really famous?" I added.

"  Sort of. We're not like Beiber or anything but we get noticed from time to time" He said. " We have such an awesome fanbase, and its not only here, we even have fans from the UK!" Jai grinned. We walked over to the swings and sat down." Okay, lets make a bet, whoever goes the highest goes the highest gets to chose a dare for the other person" Jai suggested.

" Deal" I said and began swinging as high as I could. 

" SHIT!" Jai said as he lost control. WIthin 2 seconds I heard a huge thump, he had fallen off of the swing.

" Jai!" I exclaimed as I jumped off my swing. I couldn't help but let out a small giggle." Are you okay?!" I asked checking if he had any cuts.

" Well that was embarassing, I guess I win out of compensation?" He joked.

" No way!" I protested. He was still laying on the floor. I kneeled down next to him.

" So about what Steve said, is that true" Jai asked mockingly.

" No" I joked. 

" Be honest, c'mon how can you not resist this" He said winking. 

" In your dreams" I joked. 

"  Do you think I'm cute, honestly?" He asked, his face was more serious this time.

" Why do you care" I said trying to change the subject.

" I don't" He protested.

" So you don't need to know" I laughed.

" Fine, as your dare, I dare you to tell me truthfully, do you like like me" He winked.

" Okay, maybe when I first saw you I thought you were a tiny bit cute" I forced myself to say.

" HA! I knew it! No one can resist  the jai brooks" He looked up at me as I giggled. He had brown eyes, I never noticed that before. It was as if the whole world had stopped and it was just me and Jai. It was one of those "oh my god, he's going to kiss me" moments.

" So maybe we should get back now"  Jai said to break the tension.

" Uh yeah sure" I said as he helped me up.

For the rest of the journey it was as if that moment had never happened, he was just my friend Jai, nothing more and nothing less. 

" Are you cold?" Jai asked realising I was only in a dress.

" Are you kidding, this is Australia!" I joked.

" You have goosebumps" He added. " C'mon you'll freeze to death if you don't take this" He said putting his jacket around me.

" Thanks" I smiled. It was all the little things like this that confused me. One second he avoids going in for a kiss, the next he's being the protective boyfriend?! Somethings up and I need to find out what it is...
